The People Systems team builds and maintains secure, scalable HR technology that supports employees across the company. The team partners closely with People Operations, Compensation, Payroll, Finance and Corporate Engineering to deliver reliable systems and improve how employees experience internal tools. The focus is on improving system performance, enabling new capabilities, and supporting company growth through thoughtful system design. This team plays a key role in supporting acquisitions and expanding global workforce operations!

As a Staff Workday Engineer, you will design, configure, and improve Workday solutions across HCM, Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll. You will partner directly with People and business teams to translate requirements into system configurations, reports, and integrations. This role contributes to both ongoing system improvements and major initiatives such as acquisitions and new feature development. You will also support the evaluation and implementation of AI-based capabilities within HR systems to improve efficiency and decision-making.

What you’ll do

  • Drive the design, configuration, and continuous improvement of Workday modules including HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, and act as the subject matter expert
  • Architect, build, and optimize scalable Workday integrations, custom reports, and advanced security models with a constant focus on reliability, resilience and scalability
  • Partner with People Operations, Compensation, Payroll, and Engineering teams to deliver system enhancements, process automations and resolve issues
  • Support mergers and acquisitions and Internationalization efforts by driving onboarding workflows, data migration activities and aligning systems with company standards
  • Contribute to the development of AI-enabled solutions within HR systems to improve workflows and reporting

What you bring

  • You have 6+ years of experience working with Workday, including configuration across HCM, Compensation, Payroll and Benefits, with a proven track record of architectural and design leadership
  • You have experience building and maintaining Workday reports, integrations, and security models
  • You are familiar with Payroll and Finance processes and how they connect to HR systems
  • You have hands-on experience using Workday Studio, custom integration patterns using APIs (SOAP/REST/WQL); experience with Workday Extend, Orchestrations and Prism is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage modern AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, ChatGPT, enterprise AI assistants) to accelerate your own engineering workflows, coupled with a track record of building AI-enabled automations is a massive plus
  • You can translate business requirements into system solutions and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners
