The Bank Compliance Technology Analyst supports the technical operation and continued development of the Affirm Bank Compliance and BSA/AML programs. This role translates regulatory, policy, and operational requirements into effective systems, rules, workflows, reporting, and automated controls.

The analyst will partner closely with Bank Compliance, Financial Crimes Operations, Product, Engineering, Data, and other stakeholders to ensure Affirm Bank’s compliance technology remains reliable, scalable, well-controlled, and audit-ready.

What You'll Do

  • Support the technical design and operation of Affirm Bank’s BSA/AML and broader compliance programs.
  • Build and maintain transaction-monitoring rules, customer risk-rating capabilities, EDD workflows, and other compliance controls.
  • Configure and improve case-management systems, operational workflows, investigation tools, and escalation processes.
  • Translate compliance requirements into clear system logic, technical requirements, and operational processes.
  • Conduct testing of rules, workflows, system changes, and automated decisions before and after implementation.
  • Monitor control performance, data quality, system reliability, and operational outcomes.
  • Analyze alerts, cases, customer activity, and control results to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting for Bank Compliance leadership, governance committees, audits, examinations, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Maintain documentation covering system logic, rule changes, testing, approvals, issues, and remediation.
  • Support the implementation of automated and agent-enabled compliance workflows with appropriate oversight and escalation controls.
  • Coordinate technical issues, enhancements, and roadmap priorities across Compliance, Operations, Product, Engineering, Data, and third-party vendors.
  • Help ensure compliance technology adapts to new products, regulatory expectations, and changes to Affirm Bank’s risk profile.

What We Look For

  • 5+ years experience supporting compliance technology, BSA/AML, financial crimes, banking operations, risk systems, or a related function.
  • Understanding of transaction monitoring, customer risk rating, EDD, case management, and compliance-control frameworks.
  • Ability to translate policy or regulatory requirements into practical technical and operational solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience evaluating data, identifying trends, and investigating control-performance issues.
  • Experience with workflow tools, case-management platforms, dashboards, data queries, or system configuration.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across Compliance, Operations, Product, Engineering, and Data teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and an understanding of testing, change management, governance, and audit readiness.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting a regulated bank or bank-partnership environment.
  • SQL, Python, Databricks, Snowflake experience
  • Experience with transaction-monitoring rules, model tuning, system implementation, or control testing.
  • Knowledge of BSA/AML regulations and related regulatory expectations.
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations, internal audits, model validation, or compliance testing.


Base Pay Grade - K
Equity Grade - 6

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $145,000 - $205,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $128,000 - $188,000
