From the original posting

Reimagine the infrastructure of cancer care within a community that values integrity, inspires growth, and is uniquely positioned to create a more modern, connected oncology ecosystem.

We’re looking for a Data Scientist to help us accomplish our mission to improve and extend lives by learning from the experience of every person with cancer. Are you ready to be the next changemaker in cancer care?

What You'll Do

We're looking for someone who can turn ambiguous business requests into reliable, production-grade automations. You'll partner with teams across the company to identify automation opportunities, scope requirements, and build automations leveraging AI. In addition you will:

  • Partner with stakeholders across teams to intake automation requests, define requirements, and align on priorities.
  • Design, build, test, and maintain automations (e.g., using n8n) that connect systems and automate processes across the organization.
  • Write design documents that scope technical approaches, surface tradeoffs, and set expectations with partners.
  • Write code for custom logic, data transformation, and API integrations.
  • Monitor production workflows, troubleshoot failures, and build in error handling and alerting from the start.
  • Document workflows so they can be understood, maintained, and extended by others.

Who You Are

You're a product-focused data scientist who enjoys turning business processes into reliable, maintainable automations. You're excited to build AI-powered workflows that help teams move faster with more standardized and informed processes. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact. In addition:

  • You have 1-3 years of relevant working experience as an applied data scientist or similar technical data-oriented role. Prior experience with LLMs is required.
  • You hold a bachelors, masters, and/or Ph.D. in computer science, data science, or a related field.
  • You understand how AI systems are evaluated and can analyze an existing system to understand the quality of its output, assess where improvements are needed, and communicate the impact of those improvements to stakeholders.
  • You have curiosity and knowledge to investigate, discover, and evaluate new and emerging AI architecture and design.
  • You have collaborated with other technical team members in a production development environment using formal version control, Python or Javascript.
  • You have experience working with data: parsing JSON, transforming payloads, connecting to databases or third-party services (e.g., via REST APIs).
  • You’re impact-oriented, and care deeply about creating real change for customers, users, and ultimately patients. You choose the right, rather than the flashiest, method available to reach your goals.
  • You are a clear and confident communicator who can break down complex data analyses to tell a compelling story.

Extra Credit

  • Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make, Airflow).
  • Deeper understanding of APIs (REST, webhooks, authentication patterns like OAuth and API keys).
  • Background in consulting, data analysis, solutions engineering, data engineering, or a similar hybrid technical/product role.

Where You’ll Work

In this hybrid role, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and 3 office days set by you and your team. For more information on our approach to hybrid work, please visit the how we work website.
