Job Summary:

The Sales Development Representative (SDR), based in Pune, is a dedicated pipeline-generation engine for OpenGov's US go-to-market team. This role is built for outbound specialists who want to master high-volume prospecting into the US public sector market, working US-aligned hours to connect directly with government decision-makers in real time. You'll partner closely with US-based Sales Development Representatives and Account Executives to build and qualify pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate pipeline for the US market: run high-volume outbound calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach into assigned US territories (cities, counties, special districts, and state agencies)

  • Work US-aligned hours: align your schedule to the US territories you support so you're reaching decision-makers in real time

  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads against OpenGov's ICP and hand off sales-ready opportunities to US-based Account Executives

  • Build enough fluency in OpenGov's cloud-based platform to speak credibly about the problems it solves for cities, counties, and government agencies

  • Use Salesforce, Outreach, and LinkedIn daily to manage pipeline, prioritize leads, and log activity with precision

  • Clearly and persuasively articulate OpenGov's value to US government decision-makers and quickly establish credibility

  • Hit weekly outbound activity and pipeline targets while staying disciplined about lead quality

  • Collaborate with marketing by following up on inbound and campaign-generated leads to maximize lead-to-opportunity conversion

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in Salesforce for all prospecting activity

Requirements and Preferred Experience:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in SDR, Sales or a customer-facing role

  • Excellent spoken and written English, with the confidence to cold-call US-based government decision-makers and quickly build rapport

  • Comfortable working US-aligned hours from Pune

  • A natural communicator who's confident talking to people you've never met, and knows how to make them glad you called

  • Genuinely curious about technology and its role in government, with a competitive drive and real passion for pushing the public sector forward

  • Excited by AI and what it means for government: able to speak to it credibly and see it as a differentiator in every conversation

  • Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar) is a plus

  • Background in B2B, SaaS, outbound prospecting, BPO, or government is a bonus, but not expected at this level

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Why OpenGov?

  • Comprehensive healthcare options for individuals and families

  • Flexible vacation policy and paid company holidays
