Kodiak Robotics, Inc. was founded in 2018 and has become a leader in autonomous ground transportation committed to a safer and more efficient future for all. The company has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) powered technology stack purpose-built for commercial trucking and the public sector. The company delivers freight daily for its customers across the southern United States using its autonomous technology. In 2024, Kodiak became the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer. Kodiak is also leveraging its commercial self-driving software to develop, test and deploy autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.

Kodiak AI is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer - Infrastructure to join our growing team working out of our Mountain View, CA HQ. This position will be the technical escalation point for Global End Users and Executives. The role requires a high level of technical proficiency and requires an individual with executive presence and good social skills. Must be able to quickly and effectively diagnose, and resolve issues related to Linux, Mac and Windows systems, mobile devices, cloud or datacenter infrastructure. Kodiak is looking for an individual who is customer focused, passionate about the end user experience, enjoys challenging themselves constantly to improve, and empowering the end user community by providing IT knowledge and tools. This role will be a mix of hands-on support services and collaborating on infrastructure-as-code projects with the greater IT infrastructure team. There will be many opportunities to learn, plenty of room to grow, and many interesting projects to take ownership of.

In this role, you will:

  • Driving improvements by automating IT and infrastructure processes.
  • Provide onsite and remote guidance for Engineers and staff
  • Provide end user guidance to Ubuntu Linux, Mac OS, and Windows platforms when needed
  • Coordinate issue resolution with operations and engineering staff, working with domain specialists to resolve issues.
  • Provide feedback, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing for platforms and services.
  • Manage own time to fulfill tasks efficiently, in the correct priority and to the required level of quality, within the context of the objectives supplied by the manager.
  • Participate in the deployment, support, maintenance and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN, WiFi, VPN and Cloud network infrastructure

What you’ll bring:

  • Production experience with automation and orchestration tools related to IT infrastructure
    • Production experience with Ansible, Terraform, Grafana or Prometheus
    • Production experience with Juniper Networks or Palo Alto Networks
    • Production experience with Rancher or Kubernetes
    • Production experience with AWS
    • Experience participating in security framework audits such as SOC2 or ISO:27001
    • Experience with MinIO
  • Experience collaborating in an infrastructure-as-code production environment
  • Experience using Git for collaboration in an infrastructure-as-code production environment
  • Expertise delivering the right services at the right time in a rapidly changing business environment
  • A strong understanding of SSO concepts including SAML, OIDC and supporting users with MFA, etc.
  • Excellent project and time management skills, ability to manage expectations in a deadline-driven environment and to balance strategic projects with day-to-day accountabilities
  • Strong proficiency in verbal and written communication

The pay range listed below reflects the base salary in our SF/Silicon Valley location, across several internal levels. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors including: work location, experience, relevant training, education, skill level and performance during interview. Total compensation at Kodiak includes base pay, equity, bonus and a competitive benefits package
