ELECTRICIAN

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, devices, equipment, and components
  • Install, repair, and maintain motor control centers, motor circuits, overloads, and disconnects
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain generators, automatic transfer switches, and surge protection devices
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic devices
  • Install grounding and lightning protection systems
  • Perform work from instructions using blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Install electrical components according to the current NEC code
  • Install and troubleshoots commercial lighting, receptacles, panels, circuits, and controls
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient and effective work environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 3+ years of experience working as a licensed electrician

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree
  • Journeyman license
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of codes, rules, regulations, and standards of electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of 3Ø low and medium-voltage power distribution systems
  • Understanding of critical power and safety system design concepts
  • Ability to identify and implement efficient paths of action to finish the assigned work
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Experience with common trade hand and power tools and multimeters
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical manuals, schematics, and reports
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Flight hardware is typically built in tight quarters, and physical dexterity is required
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
  • Must be available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required
  • Stand: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Sit: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Push/Pull: Up to 75lbs. (unassisted) 1-2 hours per day
  • Overhead reach: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Walk: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Lift/Carry: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 1-2 hours per day
  • Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 3 hours per day
  • Kneel/Crouch: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Upper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees up to 3 hours per day
  • Candidate must be capable of safely working at heights (up to 500ft), in confined spaces, working with high voltage, and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description. Candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment questionnaire and/or physical to confirm these capabilities, which may include a medical history review.
