  • Collaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures

  • Execute industrial hygiene studies to analyze manufacturing byproducts against associated human health thresholds

  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and implement machine guarding when needed

  • Complete and maintain documented safety observations from regular hazard identification audits

  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine root causes, corrective actions and preventive measures

  • Develop safety solutions to resolve EHS hazards/ concerns within cost and schedule constraints following a safety order of precedence to include elimination, substitution, engineering controls, work practice controls, training, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure that safety of personnel, property, and the environment are within acceptable risk boundaries

  • Responsible for hazardous and non-hazardous waste management

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with an emphasis in occupational health and safety and/or environmental engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in the design, development and operational oversight of environmental, health and safety disciplines

  • Demonstrated ability to research and apply the best industrial and working practices to provide effective services

  • Knowledge of process safety management methods, pressure systems, and chemical delivery systems

  • Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations

  • Experience with emergency response communication and incident management in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil, and water

About the Team
The Environmental Health & Safety team is responsible for building and maintaining a culture where safety is embedded into every aspect of our operations. We partner closely with field, warehouse, manufacturing, and leadership teams to proactively identify risks, implement practical safety solutions, and ensure compliance across a rapidly growing operation.

As Base continues to scale, the EHS team plays a critical role in protecting our employees, customers, and communities while enabling the business to move quickly and efficiently. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on team that values ownership, continuous improvement, and a proactive approach to solving complex safety and environmental challenges. If you're excited about building programs from the ground up, influencing operational excellence, and making a tangible impact on employee safety, you'll thrive here.

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.
