Joblaze insights
Quick facts
From the original posting
Flow is what the frontier of hardware is built on. We're building a new way to engineer machines — alongside the teams inventing what the world hasn't seen in aerospace, robotics, energy, and the categories that haven't been named yet. We're hiring a filmmaker to tell this story.
What you'll own
You'll shape how Flow shows up to the world. Day to day, that means:
Narrative direction. You hold the through-line. The podcast, the customer films, the social cuts should feel like chapters of one bigger story
Podcast production. Record, edit, and publish conversations between our founder and the engineering leaders building the most ambitious hardware in the world. You own the production (including cutting the clips that travel)
Customer films. Not case studies. Short, cinematic pieces that let the viewer feel what it's like inside the companies we serve. More A24 than B2B.
Social-first video. Short-form content that doesn't look like a startup made it. Our feed should read like a visual essay, not a demo reel.
Who we're looking for
A creative first. You see things other people miss, and you make them visible.
A storyteller. You know what makes a moment matter, and how to shape a thread the viewer can't look away from. A great eye. You can't always articulate why a shot works, but you know.
A great eye. You can't always articulate why a shot works, but you know.
A few years of production experience (but what you've shipped matters more than how long you’ve worked)
Comfort owning the whole stack: shoot, edit, color, sound, delivery. No crew to hide behind.
Hardware interest is a plus, not a prerequisite. We can teach you about rockets. We can't teach taste.
What this isn't
A role for someone who wants to be told what to shoot.
"Corporate explainer" work.
A content mill. We'd rather make ten great things than a hundred okay ones.
Location
SF
How to apply
Send a reel or three pieces you're proud of, plus one paragraph on why they matter to you.
