Who We Are

Maybern is transforming the way private fund managers effectively manage their funds through cutting edge technology: an operating system with deterministic guard rails underneath, agents on top. Maybern is founded by top engineering experts with deep knowledge of the fund management space.

Private funds manage $15T in capital and are growing at 20% YoY, but with increasing regulatory scrutiny and investor demands for transparency, the need for more modern, fully agentic solutions to help private fund CFOs is crucial.

This is where Maybern comes in.

We are equipping fund managers with a fully agentic operating system for private fund management, enabling private investment managers to focus on what they do best: driving returns for their investors. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and a large number of strategic investors.

Maybern is an NYC based company with a strong in-office culture to drive collaboration, and we are looking to make strong additions to our team.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for experienced professionals in the private funds industry who are excited to apply their expertise to building and implementing next-generation fund management software.

You might come from a background as a fund accountant, private funds operations professional, or implementation specialist at a fund administration or fund management software provider. What matters most is that you understand the complexity of private funds, can navigate complex operational requirements, and enjoy working closely with clients and internal teams to solve problems through technology.

What You'll Do

You'll be part of Maybern's Implementation team, helping deliver complex client implementations and building the processes, practices, and team capabilities that enable us to scale. You'll work closely with clients and our Solutions, Product and Engineering teams to translate fund structures and operational requirements into scalable solutions, ensuring high-quality implementation and adoption.

As an Implementation Manager, you'll have responsibility for managing and developing members of the Implementation team, as well as overseeing delivery across multiple implementations and workstreams. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of execution, removing roadblocks, and ensuring teams have the support and direction they need to be successful.

You'll also remain highly client-facing, participating in discovery sessions, solution design, implementation discussions, and client meetings. While you may not be the primary owner of the overall client relationship, you'll serve as a trusted subject matter expert and implementation leader, helping clients navigate complex requirements and ensuring their needs are translated effectively into the platform.

  • Lead & Develop the Team: You will have direct people-management responsibilities for members of the Implementation team, including coaching, performance management, career development, and fostering a high-performing team culture. You may also provide delivery leadership and mentorship to Analysts working on implementations outside of your direct reporting line.

  • Lead Implementation Delivery: You will oversee the planning and execution of complex implementation workstreams, helping teams define milestones, manage dependencies, identify risks, and maintain a high bar for quality and timeliness. You'll ensure the right internal teams — including Solutions, Product, and Engineering — are engaged at the appropriate stages.

  • Become a Product Expert: You'll develop deep expertise in our software and use that knowledge to provide strategic guidance during implementation. You'll help teams navigate complex fund structures, identify edge cases, solve challenging problems, and determine when requirements can be addressed through configuration, process, or product enhancements.

  • Client-Facing Solution Design: You'll work directly with clients, including CFOs, Controllers, and other operational stakeholders, to understand their fund structures and workflows. You'll participate in discovery sessions, solution design discussions, and implementation reviews, translating complex requirements into clear and scalable solutions.

  • Build & Strengthen Client Partnerships: While you may not own the overall client relationship, you'll build strong working relationships with client stakeholders and become a trusted partner throughout the implementation process. You'll communicate clearly, set appropriate expectations, and help clients understand how Maybern can support their operating model.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and other internal teams to resolve implementation challenges and contribute to the evolution of the product. Your experience working directly with clients gives you a unique perspective on product gaps, recurring implementation challenges, and opportunities to improve the platform.

  • Improve How We Work: You'll help evolve Maybern's implementation processes, playbooks, tools, and operating model. You'll identify opportunities to make implementations more efficient, scalable, and consistent and help translate those opportunities into practical changes for the team.

Who You Are

  • Collaborative. You enjoy working across teams and managing both internal and external stakeholders. You are comfortable providing direction to people who may not directly report to you and excel at incorporating feedback while communicating clearly and consistently.

  • Product-Minded. You have a deep understanding of the inner workings of fund and investment structures and can translate complex structures and calculations into clear, scalable solutions. You can apply your industry knowledge to identify user needs, solve implementation challenges, and influence product decisions.

  • Detail-Oriented. You understand that there is little room for error when building software that manages critical financial calculations and investment data. You are rigorous in your work and hold yourself and others to a high standard.

  • People Leader. You enjoy developing others and are comfortable providing coaching, feedback, and direction. You can balance supporting your direct reports with providing leadership and guidance to broader implementation teams.

  • Strategic. You see both the forest and the trees: you can think about the broader implementation and operating model while also diving into the details needed to solve a specific problem. You can plan for the long term while navigating short-term hurdles.

  • Client-Focused. You are comfortable working directly with sophisticated clients and can communicate complex concepts clearly. You build credibility through your expertise, judgment, and ability to understand a client's underlying needs.

  • Curious. You enjoy learning about technical concepts, software, and clients' unique approaches to managing their fund finance operations. You are motivated by understanding how things work and finding better ways to solve problems.

This Could Be a Great Fit If You…

  • Have 5+ years of experience in private funds, whether in fund accounting, fund operations, or implementing fund management software.

  • Have experience leading projects, workstreams, or teams, with direct people-management experience preferred.

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent experience is a plus.

  • Are comfortable translating complex fund structures and calculations into clear, scalable solutions.

  • Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and are comfortable presenting and collaborating directly with clients.

  • Are proficient with Microsoft Excel.

  • Are knowledgeable in fund accounting systems (Yardi, Investran, etc.).

  • Have experience with investment structures and financial statements.

  • Have a heightened attention to detail that can be applied to translating a variety of private fund structures and calculations into a flexible software solution.

  • Are comfortable operating in a matrixed environment, providing leadership and guidance across teams even when individuals do not directly report to you.
