The Team

As part of the Manufacturing organization, Supply Chain secures the materials, equipment, and supplier partnerships required to support manufacturing and business operations. The team builds resilient supply chains while ensuring quality, cost, and delivery performance.

The Role

  • Build and manage indirect spend sourcing strategy across different categories (CAPEX, IT, Professional services, ...) to support Valar's growth.
  • Drive Total Cost of Ownership reduction and value creation through market analysis, should-cost modeling, RFx processes, and negotiations.
  • Develop and enforce supplier agreements and strategic partnerships that protect functional relationships and ensure compliance.
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to improve policies and processes for efficiency and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own cross-functional supplier selection and lead negotiations across indirect spend categories.
  • Design and drive sourcing policies and procedures that maximize efficiency and scalability.
  • Implement cost modeling to identify and prioritize high-impact savings opportunities.
  • Present sourcing strategy and results to executive leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with indirect suppliers and service providers.
  • Track market trends across indirect categories, integrating new data into sourcing strategy.
  • Proactively identify, monitor, and mitigate supplier and contract risks.
  • Manage contract renewals, SLAs, and vendor performance across the indirect supply base.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field. MBA/Master's a plus.
  • 10 years of experience in indirect sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Proven track record negotiating contracts across multiple indirect categories.
  • Experience operating in a fast-growth and/or highly regulated environment.
  • Strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills, partnering with non-Supply Chain functions.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/procurement systems.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Nuclear, aerospace, or other highly regulated industry experience.
  • Strong negotiation and business acumen (contracts, pricing structures, TCO, should-cost modeling).
  • Start-up / fast-growth company experience a plus.
  • CPSM or CPIM certification a plus.
