Joblaze insights
Quick facts
From the original posting
We are seeking a part-time Office & Events Coordinator to run our Williamsburg HQ and build the in-office culture that comes with it. You'll keep the space running smoothly and own an events calendar people actually look forward to.
This role is approximately 15-20 hours per week, onsite at least 3 days a week. We're flexible on how the hours are structured.
Below is a sample of what this role may include. Ultimately, the right candidate will have a "can do" attitude and is willing to help across a wide variety of operational and culture-building activities.
Office Management
Keep the office stocked: snacks, beverages, and office supplies
Strategize and implement ways to keep the space organized — sourcing storage solutions, closet organizers, and systems that help the office stay tidy as we grow
Track inventory of work accessories, and stationery
Coordinate building access for new and existing employees, and serve as the point of contact with building management
Ensure every new hire has a desk ready on day one, greet visitors, and be the go-to person for all in-office questions
Own vendor relationships
Events & Culture
Fully own the Axion events calendar
Curate fun, engaging, team-building activities that spearhead our in-office culture and give people real reasons to be here
Organize our quarterly happy hours, provide support for individual teams in planning their own team events
Lead larger team celebrations and our annual company-wide events, including the holiday party and summer event
An attitude of "no task is too small" — we are looking for someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves and do what needs to be done
An upbeat, friendly presence. You set the tone for the office, and people should be glad to see you
A self-starter who takes on initiatives without being asked — you see what needs improving and go do it
1+ years in office management, workplace operations, events, or hospitality
Experience planning events, from small team happy hours to company-wide celebrations
Comfort managing vendors and working within a budget
Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and a high level of discretion
Proficient in Google Workspace, Slack, and conferencing tools like Zoom
Able to be onsite in Williamsburg at least 3 days per week
You're an operator who thrives in fast-moving, high-accountability environments. You take pride in getting things done — thoughtfully, efficiently, and without drama. You're energized by ambiguity and comfortable flexing between planning and execution.
You bring genuine warmth to a room. You notice when someone new looks lost, you remember what the team liked about the last event, and you care about the details that make a workplace feel good. You're low-ego but high-agency: you don't need constant direction, you create momentum, and you take ownership for outcomes.
We move fast, work smart, and hold ourselves to a high bar. Axion isn't a 9–5 — it's a place for people who take pride in their craft and are motivated by meaningful work. We're highly collaborative and connected throughout the day, mostly over Slack, and we share feedback often so context and decisions flow freely. We push hard but don't glorify burnout — we're in this for the long game.
Leave ego at the door. Titles don't define value; contribution does. Ideas win on merit.
