Role Overview
MUSE is Promise's studio operating system, the platform our productions run on. It is built across product, pipeline, and infrastructure while live productions run on it.
As Program Manager, you lead the execution of the MUSE program across all three areas: planning, dependency and risk management, decision tracking, and the operating rhythm that keeps engineering, pipeline, infrastructure, and production aligned. Product sets priorities and defines what gets built; you own the plan that delivers it, with clear owners, milestones, and dates.
You are the product voice in production and the production voice in product. You lead the adoption of MUSE on live productions and bring what productions need back to product as clear, well-formed requests ready for decision. This is our founding program role, and you will establish how this studio plans and delivers software.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end execution of the MUSE program: scope, milestones, schedule, and delivery across product, pipeline, and infrastructure.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the product organization and production leads, coordinators, and artists, and lead the rollout of MUSE on each production, in partnership with the product and pipeline leads, from onboarding through delivery.
Establish and run the program's operating rhythm (planning cycles, program reviews, retrospectives), and maintain the program plan and decision record as the single source of truth for status, ownership, and dates.
Identify, track, and mitigate risks and cross-team dependencies, including those tied to the production calendar, and escalate with clear options and a recommendation.
Partner with product and engineering to translate priorities into executable plans, with capacity, sequencing, and dependencies made explicit.
Coordinate integrations and releases against the production calendar, and manage intake for the product organization so production feedback and tool and feature requests arrive complete, with clear ownership and timing, and ready for product decision.
Lead infrastructure programs supporting MUSE and productions (access, environments, storage, compute, security, vendor services), including provisioning and onboarding for teams and productions, on the same plan and cadence as product and pipeline.
Communicate status, risks, and decisions to leadership and stakeholders, with a concise weekly view of where the program stands.
Apply AI tooling across program operations (meeting capture, decision tracking, reporting) and continuously improve how the program runs.
Qualifications
5+ years of program or project management experience in film, episodic, games, or software, with a record of delivering complex, cross-functional programs on schedule.
Working knowledge of production pipelines and tracking systems (AYON, ShotGrid, ftrack, or equivalent) and the language of VFX and post.
Familiarity with studio infrastructure fundamentals (access management, storage, compute, networking, vendor services), with sound judgment on when to escalate.
Proven ability to run planning cadence, decision tracking, and dependency management across engineering and production teams.
Technical fluency to follow engineering and pipeline discussions and ask the right questions.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to tailor status, risk, and technical constraints to the audience.
Daily, hands-on use of AI tools in your own work.
Discretion and comfort working with confidential material under NDA.
Based in Los Angeles and available on-site.
Preferred
Experience introducing new software into a live production environment.
Experience with generative AI production workflows.
Background spanning both production and software delivery.
