RECEIVING INSPECTOR (STARSHIP)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and profilometers
  • Approves or rejects items and documents inspection results as required
  • Performs documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements
  • Communicates with internal customers and suppliers as required to resolve inspection discrepancies
  • Use an electronic ERP system to route parts and components to the proper departments

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of experience in a receiving, inspection, or quality assurance role

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of receiving, precision, mechanical, or electronics inspection experience
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or commercial aircraft environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience with the control of nonconforming hardware, failure/root cause analysis, corrective, and preventative processes
  • Experience operating a forklift or other material handling motorized vehicles and equipment
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent people management skills and technical know-how to provide hands-on supervision
  • Good communication skills and the ability to articulate aerospace hardware and systems problems to technical professionals to initiate resolutions
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems
  • Practical experience with GD&T and skillful use of metrology tools and gauges

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
  • Ability to work overtime, and/or weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Ability to work the following shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 4:30pm
