About the Role:

We are seeking a technically savvy, visionary leader that can partner with the SVP of Field Engineering (also a co-founder) and the broader leadership team of a 3,000-person global organization within Databricks. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a rapidly growing technology company by defining and executing strategies that drive scale, productivity, and technical excellence.

This role is focused on several strategic outcomes critical for the future growth of Databricks: Shaping and driving the future of FE, Ensuring product execution at scale, Driving effective Delivery and Enablement execution, and being a company-first leader that can bridge across GTM and Product

In this role, you will also help drive a high-performing, AI-driven builder culture, identifying ways to leverage AI, automation, and tooling to increase efficiency, improve decision-making, and enable teams to focus on the highest-impact work. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, execution, and technical leadership.

Successful Outcomes:

  • Strategic Business partner to our SVP, FE to shape the future of this function
    • OKRs/Metrics: Put in place OKRs, and metrics to measure performance
    • Strategic Planning & Execution: Partner with the SVP and leadership team to set long-term organizational strategy, drive critical initiatives, and ensure cross-functional alignment.
      Future Operating Models: Define, design, and test innovative operating models for the organization, deciding where to centralize, where to push accountability to BUs, and which initiatives to pilot
  • Ensure GTM Product Execution at scale
    • Provide key inputs on product planning, product target setting, and product resources to the central GTM planning team
    • Run the the inspection cadence and work across Product, Sales, Operations, FE teams to quickly resolve issues (e.g, pipeline, product gaps)
    • Proactively surface and address gaps both with regional teams and with product teams to improve execution
  • Drive Work with PS and Enablement leaders to ensure enablement and delivery excellence with the operations team
    • Work with key business stakeholders to shape PS and Enablement strategy (covers topics like FDE strategy, resourcing and hiring strategy)
    • Ensure Professional Services and Enablement operations scale with AI and Automation

    • Leadership vision and clarity: Lead with vision, clarity, and do not be afraid to take the tough decisions
      AI-Driven Productivity & Innovation: Enable a builder-first, AI-first culture by identifying opportunities to leverage AI, tooling, and automation to improve productivity and impact across the org.
    • Cross-Functional Influence: Collaborate with Strategy and Operations teams, Product, Sales, Finance, People, and other teams to ensure strategic initiatives are executed effectively and priorities are aligned.
    • Organizational Insight & Experimentation: Use data, experience, and technical expertise to identify bottlenecks, test new approaches, and recommend solutions that optimize performance and growth.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Deep technical understanding of field engineering organizations, enterprise solutions, and technology strategy, with the ability to assess and evolve end-to-end Field Engineering models.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, or technical leadership in high-growth technology companies.
  • Proven ability to define strategy and execute at scale in complex, technical organizations.
  • Experience running centralized technical or operational functions and influencing distributed teams.
  • Strong perspectives on leveraging AI, automation, and tooling to drive productivity, improve decision-making, and enable a builder-first culture.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and influence skills; comfortable working across Product, Sales, Finance, People, and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and experimental mindset; comfortable testing new approaches and iterating based on data and outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with both internal leaders and external partners.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, balancing innovation with operational rigor, and driving accountability across large, complex organizations.
