About the role:
In 2027, Upvest is launching the PEA (Plan d'Épargne en Actions) on the French market with several leading fintechs. Within the Settlements & Transfers team, you will work across the full post-trade chain of securities account and PEA transfers: from instruction processing to settlement at Euroclear France, including relations with account keepers, custodians and issuers.
This internship offers direct exposure to French and European post-trade operations during a product launch, with real responsibilities from your first weeks.
What you’ll do:
Incoming and outgoing transfers: Handle securities account (CTO) and PEA transfers with banks and brokers in France and across Europe, from receipt of the request to settlement of securities and cash.
Counterparty and client relations: Ensure smooth communication with counterparties (banks, brokers, custodians) and our clients, and drive the follow-up of requests and reminders.
Controls and reconciliation: Check securities and cash positions, reconcile movements with our custodian and analyse breaks.
Fails and exception management: Investigate unsettled or rejected instructions, identify the root cause and coordinate resolution with counterparties and internal teams.
PEA tax continuity: Review and record PEA tax statements (bordereaux d'information) to ensure the plan's tax history is fully preserved.
Registered shares: Process operations on French registered shares (conversions, de/registrations).
Reporting and continuous improvement: actively monitor SLAs and KPIs, write operating procedures and identify automation opportunities.
What you bring:
Education: Master's degree (M1 or M2) in Finance, Banking, Economics or Law from a business school, engineering school or university; gap-year students and recent Master's graduates able to sign an internship agreement are welcome.
Languages: You have native-level or bilingual proficiency in French (C2) and are comfortable working in English.
Experience: A first experience in banking, back office, middle office or securities operations is a strong plus, as is knowledge of the PEA, post-trade or Euroclear France.
Analytical mindset: Rigour, attention to detail and a taste for solving complex problems.
Tools: You're confident with spreadsheets ; knowledge SQL/Python is a plus.
How we Upvest in you:
Impact-driven work: We’re building the infrastructure that will power the future of investing in Europe. It’s complex, ambitious, and meaningful. You’ll work with modern technologies and create something entirely new. No legacy systems, no limits.
