Abridge’s government business is growing in both volume and complexity, and this role will own the contract product, and compliance work that powers it. We are looking for a seasoned attorney with experience building relationships with and contracting with government agencies. As a Senior Corporate Counsel - Government Contracting, you will be at the front lines of making Abridge a success, working with internal stakeholders across the sales, partner success, security and product teams to support contracting, product development, and compliance with some of our most complex customers.
Drive customer growth by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex government contracts, ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency specific requirements
Provide guidance throughout the entire lifecycle of product build and government contracting, from government sales strategy and solicitation review through bid submission, negotiation, to implementation and ongoing regulatory and government contract compliance
Work with our commercial legal team in iterating on and improving our templates, and developing playbooks and processes for improving accuracy and efficiency
Facilitate automation and efficiencies in collaboration with our Legal Ops team
Stay abreast of regulatory and policy developments that may impact decision making
Work with and manage outside counsel to navigate complex and novel questions
Please note, while we anticipate the majority of time will be spent supporting government contracting, the exact percentage may vary week-to-week, and this role will be expected to support other aspects of the commercial legal function when core work is slower
7+ years of experience in a legal function with at least 3 years of advising on working with government contracting and related compliance.
Established ability to advise on government contract implementation and ongoing compliance, including translating contract obligations into internal processes and assessing adherence to those obligations.
Comfort with juggling tight timelines, competing priorities, and a high volume of contracts
Passion for Abridge’s mission and the energy and drive to support a fast-moving commercial team
A customer-service mindset; we approach our deals as collaborative projects and treat negotiations as a tool to establish strong partnerships with our customers
Demonstrated ability to work independently; interest in joining a small team that prioritizes autonomy and trust
Proven ability to work cross-functionally, particularly with technical teams, security, and sales teams, building relationships and earning their confidence
Creativity in solving and navigating novel contractual matters; experience in crafting new approaches and language to meet the needs of a rapidly-moving enterprise in a novel industry
Familiarity with bid protest proceedings and experience in healthcare or healthcare technology are helpful but not required.
