THE ROLE.

The Senior Director, Supply Chain Operations who will be successful in this role has an entrepreneurial spirit and will be responsible for evolving the scale, efficiency and effective management of our vendor and distribution network (3PL, warehousing and transportation) as well as inventory storage functions for our omni-channel direct-to-consumer business (ecommerce, wholesale, and retail).

You will be responsible for all processes and budget with expectations for delivering both short-term and long-term priorities and plans. The right person needs to be a driven yet compassionate leader with the proven ability to successfully motivate, mentor and develop a team to represent Operational Excellence across the Glossier brand. You will work closely with our internal teams to lead and develop a first-class supply chain that supports Glossier’s growth and expansion, both domestically and internationally. Omni-channel beauty industry experience is a must with a preference for candidates who have previously worked in fragrance, make-up and/or skincare.

6 Month Expectations:

  • Lead strategic planning for current/future storage needs to support direct to consumer, wholesale and retail distribution processes.
  • Implement a long-term network strategy for omni-channel distribution and storage capacity that will best serve our projected growth, geographies and channels ensuring the business remains aware and ahead of any constraints or needs.
  • Establish new vendor partnerships while maintaining current vendor connectivity, rooted in quality, transparency and efficiency.
  • Implement processes, SLA’s and influence teams that support Glossier’s growth and service objectives, as well as scale freight expense.
  • Partner with 3PLs to continually improve and optimize all fulfillment processes including receiving, putaway, picking, shipping and returns processing, etc.
  • Work closely with our internal and 3PL technology team to implement and/or upgrade warehouse and material handling systems and automation, where appropriate.
  • Ensure brand appropriate delivery promise and post-purchase customer experience is delivered across all fulfillment activities and touchpoints, including packaging and presentation.
  • Continually work to optimize the sustainability (people, profits and planet) of our logistics and shipping processes, people and packaging.
  • Manage and report inventory related status in our fulfillment centers as it helps inform the impact to the business.
  • Lead and support the resolution of process-related issues and act as an information resource for all things related to distribution and logistics.
  • Execute seamless customer experience during peak season.

12 Month Expectations:

  • Lead budget management, financial analysis, reporting standards, performance measurement and communication that provides visibility and guidance for operations team and senior leadership.
  • Manage outbound shipping budget and key initiatives to improve service, while reducing costs.
  • Explore and drive opportunities to scale costs through systems improvement and automated processes that have a strong ROI.
  • Develop and evolve management reporting, operational analysis and provide visibility to key partners.
  • Create a culture of continual improvement, customer/service focus and cost optimization aligned with Glossier’s values.
  • Develop working relationships with other functions to create transparency in reporting, metrics and service levels.
  • Implement a playbook of standard operating processes and continuous improvement across the operations team.

KEY INGREDIENTS.

  • Omni-channel beauty industry experience is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in logistics/inventory control management is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, logistics, business management or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience with ERP, WMS and e-commerce systems in an omni channel environment required.
  • Working knowledge of warehousing operations, inventory, receiving, and order processing.
  • Experience with managing and launching domestic and international warehouses or 3PL partners required.
  • Experience in small parcel transportation management and optimization is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts related to project evaluation, financial forecasting, return on investment, etc. is preferred.
  • Assured ability presenting to and influencing leadership required.

In accordance with the applicable law, the following represents a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum compensation range for this position:

  • The estimated annual pay range for this role is $165,000.00-$215,000.00.
  • There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role.
  • Full-time positions are also eligible for a competitive compensation and benefits package that include medical health insurance, 401K, equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units, Paid Time Off, Short Term and Long Term Disability leave, and a range of other benefits.
