An overview of this role

As Growth Senior Product Manager, you'll own GitLab's self-serve product journey end-to-end, from a visitor's first interaction with GitLab.com through trial, activation, and paid conversion. Software demand is expanding fast in the agentic era, and self-serve is one of the highest-leverage paths for GitLab to capture it. You'll consolidate acquisition, activation, and monetization into a single connected experience, and use experimentation and product data to compound growth across the full funnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the self-serve journey end-to-end, spanning signup, trial, activation, and monetization
  • Use product usage and event data to identify high-impact, well-scoped growth opportunities, and run a continuous test-and-learn cadence across the funnel
  • Partner with Engineering, Design, and Data counterparts to scope, sequence, and ship experiments, surfacing cross-functional dependencies early in each initiative
  • Define success metrics for each initiative, and connect roadmap decisions directly to customer and revenue outcomes
  • Operate with a small, autonomous team, owning your roadmap and the outcomes it produces

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in product management, ideally owning a self-serve or product-led growth funnel end-to-end
  • Strong technically: you understand how software is built, packaged, deployed, and operated
  • Strong analytical skills, SQL proficiency, and a hypothesis-driven approach to product decisions
  • Well versed in experimentation and A/B testing, with a track record of shipping frequent, measurable product improvements
  • Comfortable working directly with production usage and event data
  • Highly independent and pragmatic, with a strong bias for action
  • Excellent written and spoken English, and comfort working async in a distributed team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with common growth frameworks, including acquisition loops, activation loops, and product-qualified leads (PQLs)
  • Prior experience at a Product-Led Growth company
  • Experience with GitLab, Git, or Git workflows
  • Experience building developer tools or DevOps products
  • Experience engaging with customers in a B2B setting
