What you’ll do
On the Bionic Enterprise Platform team, you’ll build the shared software and infrastructure that help our Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) deliver solutions across Atoms. You’ll work closely with FDEs to turn successful deployments into reusable capabilities and make each new solution faster to build, easier to operate, and more reliable.
- Partner with FDEs to understand what they’re building, identify recurring needs, and decide which parts should become shared platform capabilities.
- Turn proven solutions into reusable services, integrations, and components that other engineers can adopt with minimal setup.
- Build the foundations for AI-powered applications and workflows, including access to models, business systems, and data, with shared authentication, permissions, and observability.
- Create tools, APIs, SDKs, and deployment templates that let FDEs build, test, and ship independently while meeting security and reliability requirements.
- Help successful deployments grow beyond their initial use case. Strengthen architecture, testing, monitoring, and failure recovery so the business can depend on them.
- Own the platform in production, including reliability, performance, cost, and upgrades. Establish clear ownership and support paths as solutions move from initial deployment to ongoing operation.
- Measure success through developer adoption, shorter delivery times, reduced duplication, and reliable operation. Use feedback from FDEs to keep the platform focused on real needs.
What we’re looking for
- A bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, with experience building infrastructure, platforms, or shared backend services.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals. You can design clear APIs, model data, reason about distributed systems, and make practical tradeoffs between speed, reliability, and complexity.
- Experience turning a specific implementation into a reusable capability. You know when an abstraction will help and when it’s too early to build one.
- A developer-focused mindset. You care about documentation, debugging, onboarding, and making the easiest way to build a reliable one.
- Experience integrating systems through APIs, authentication, and data pipelines, with an understanding of access controls and safe handling of business data.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containers, CI/CD, and production observability. Experience with GCP or Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Experience building AI-powered applications or supporting infrastructure for them, such as model gateways, tool integrations, workflow execution, or evaluations.
- Effective use of AI coding tools, with the ability to understand, test, debug, and maintain the systems you build.
- Strong ownership and collaboration. You can work alongside FDEs moving quickly, solve immediate delivery problems, and turn what you learn into improvements that benefit the broader team.
