As Senior Manager of Programmatic Tech Operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational strategy, team, and roadmap behind a new and high-impact function. What you’ll do:

  • Build and lead Pinterest’s Programmatic Tech Operations, shaping scalable processes, team structure, and best practices.
  • Oversee the execution and optimization of programmatic campaigns, ensuring accuracy, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the technical expert for programmatic platforms (DSPs, SSPs, auction mechanics, deal types, and integrations).
  • Partner closely with Sales, Analytics, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to refine workflows and measurement strategies.
  • Leverage strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of business drivers to identify opportunities for process and performance improvement, using robust data analysis and tools like Excel and BI dashboards to drive actionable insights across the programmatic business.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to advance Pinterest’s ad infrastructure and drive global innovation in programmatic operations.
  • Build and develop high-performing, mission-driven teams, while proactively planning growth, driving change initiatives, and fostering accountability and adaptability.
  • Manage vendor partnerships and keep Pinterest at the forefront of emerging AdTech trends.
  • Champion best practices and platform updates through internal training and executive presentations.

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years in digital media, ad tech, or related industries, with 5+ years leading high-performing and/or large-scale technical operations teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in programmatic advertising, including DSPs, SSPs, auction mechanics, deal types, and operational management in AdTech or platform environments.
  • Strong technical skills across ad servers, tag management, data integrations, and measurement/attribution tools (e.g., Google Ad Manager, DV360, The Trade Desk).
  • Advanced data literacy: able to analyze, interpret, and act on large data sets using tools like Excel, BI or Tableau platforms.
  • Experience developing scalable processes, operational documentation, and cross-functional workflows in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of API integrations and custom platform connections (preferred).
  • Exceptional communicator, collaborator, and influencer; able to convey complex technical topics simply and persuasively to diverse internal and external audiences.
  • Proven success driving operational and strategic impact in ambiguous, high-growth environments.
  • Working knowledge of AI and machine learning applications in programmatic operations, including predictive bidding, anomaly detection, and AI-driven campaign optimization tools, with a drive to identify and implement emerging AI capabilities that improve operational efficiency and performance outcomes.
  • Deep passion for Pinterest’s mission to inspire people and make online experiences more positive and useful.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as digital media or sales, or equivalent professional experience.
