About This Role

The Trust & Safety Ops team protects Strava's global community of athletes by enforcing community standards, responding to safety incidents, and partnering with Legal, Policy, Engineering, and Product to build scalable moderation systems. We sit within the Product Management organisation and operate as a small, high-trust team where every person's work is visible and impactful.

We're hiring two Trust & Safety Specialists to join the team in Dublin and own core content moderation operations. You'll work in Strava's moderation tooling and Intercom, reviewing user reports and proactive detection flags, actioning content and account decisions across categories including spam, harassment, impersonation, graphic content, and child safety. You'll collaborate closely with your manager and senior team members, escalate edge cases with clear reasoning, and contribute to queue health and SLA performance. This is hands-on operational work with real, measurable impact on the safety of millions of athletes.

The two positions require working on a weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) schedule to provide weekend coverage for time-sensitive regulatory obligations.

We follow a flexible hybrid model that translates to more than half of your time on-site in our Dublin office, two days per week.

What You'll Do

  • Review reactive user reports and proactive detection flags in Strava's moderation tool and Intercom, making content and account enforcement decisions against Community Standards, Acceptable Use Policy, and internal policies.

  • Own moderation queue targets jointly with your manager, meeting SLA expectations across tiered response times and maintaining high decision accuracy and consistency.

  • Escalate edge cases, novel policy questions, and high-severity incidents (child safety, legal requests) to senior team members or Legal with clear, well-reasoned context.

  • Contribute to compliance-driven review workflows for regulatory obligations including, but not limited to, the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Take It Down Act (TIDA).

  • Flag policy gaps, tooling friction, and recurring content patterns you encounter in daily review work, contributing to continuous operational improvement.

  • Participate in cross-functional efforts with Policy, Legal, Engineering, and Customer Experience teams to support moderation at scale.

  • For the Tue-Sat role: serve as the primary point of contact for Saturday escalations and time-sensitive regulatory obligations, owning weekend coverage end-to-end.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in content moderation, online safety, or trust and safety operations in any platform context (social media, gaming, marketplace, fintech, or similar).

  • Comfort regularly reviewing sensitive and graphic content, including harassment, spam, child safety material, and self-harm, and discussing difficult subjects clearly and calmly.

  • Strong judgement in applying policy to ambiguous situations. You can reason through edge cases, articulate your thinking, and make well-grounded decisions rather than relying solely on scripts or decision trees.

  • Genuine motivation for operational execution work. This role is heavily queue-based, and we're looking for someone who finds satisfaction in the rhythm and rigour of doing essential moderation work well, not someone who’s only seeking a stepping stone to policy or strategy.

  • Clear, concise communication skills, particularly when escalating sensitive issues or flagging patterns to senior team members.

  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to involve others. You manage your queue effectively and ask for help at the right moments.

  • Experience with Intercom or similar ticketing and support platforms is a plus.

  • Familiarity with content moderation regulatory frameworks (DSA, GDPR, or similar) is a plus.

  • Professional fluency in a second European language is a plus.
