About the role The Controller is a senior strategic leader responsible for strengthening MLT’s financial infrastructure and ensuring excellence across all accounting and financial operations. This role oversees the full scope of accounting functions for MLT’s $30M+ portfolio including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll compliance, grant and fund accounting, treasury, reporting, and financial compliance while driving process improvements and ensuring year-round audit readiness. In this position, you will lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Finance team, partnering closely with the CFO, program leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely financial insights that advance MLT’s mission and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings a balance of precision, strategic insight, operational leadership, and a solutions-oriented mindset. Success in this role requires deep technical expertise in nonprofit accounting, a commitment to integrity, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear guidance for diverse audiences.
