Joblaze insights
Quick facts
From the original posting
Almost all of the capacity Ornn sells is build-to-order. A customer signs for nodes that do not exist yet, a supplier cuts a purchase order with the OEM, and somewhere between that order and a working cluster the schedule slips. When it slips it is a problem for the customer, a problem for us, and under many of our contracts it carries steep delay penalties.
You would own the deployment track end to end: one person, one process, asking suppliers the right question at the right time, and seeing a delay far enough out that we can still do something about it.
Own the schedule for every build-to-order deployment, from purchase order to nodes in service.
Run a standing cadence with suppliers: demand forecasting with the OEM, an All Parts In date, weekly component checks, a firm ship date, then build, validation and shipment.
Track the components that actually move dates
Track facility readiness in parallel: power, cooling, site works, construction and anything on site that can push a date.
Escalate early. Surface a slip while there is still room to act, with the delay penalty exposure attached.
Hand off cleanly to fleet operations when capacity goes live, and report the actual in-service date, since invoicing and revenue recognition run off it.
Build the process and the tooling as you go. There is a tracker today and not much else.
Requirements
2+ years in technical program management, project management, deployment or supply chain, in hardware, data centers or infrastructure.
Experience holding external vendors to a schedule, and escalating before a date is missed rather than after.
Comfortable with the technical detail. You do not need to design a cluster, but you need to know what a missing NIC does to a ship date.
Short, clear written updates. People should be able to read your status in ten seconds.
Nice-to-Haves
Data center build or GPU cluster deployment experience.
Familiarity with OEM and ODM lead times and component allocation.
Exposure to liquidated damages, service levels or delivery terms in commercial contracts.
Time at a neocloud, data center operator, systems integrator or hardware manufacturer.
Ornn's customer contracts carry target delivery dates with real money behind them. Every deployment that lands late costs us penalties, credibility with that customer, and usually the next deal with them. Nobody owns that timeline today, which is exactly why this role exists. Done well, it turns delivery from something we find out about into something we manage.
Benefits include competitive salary, meaningful equity, health coverage, free meals, and additional benefits.
