From the original posting

Joining Legora means three things.

  • We lean in: ownership over titles, outcomes over intentions.

The Role

Legora is building the compensation infrastructure to support a fast-scaling, globally distributed company. We're looking for a Director, Compensation to help shape and scale Legora's approach to pay as we grow. You'll be a key partner to the VP of Rewards, owning the day-to-day design and execution of our compensation programs — from benchmarking and job architecture to salary planning and equity strategy. This is a high-visibility role with real influence over how Legora attracts, rewards, and retains talent globally.

This is a great opportunity for a compensation professional who wants to build (not just maintain) programs at a company still defining its comp infrastructure, with the backing of an experienced Rewards leader.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve Legora's compensation guidelines, pay structures, and salary ranges across all levels and geographies

  • Lead job architecture work — leveling, job family mapping, and career framework design — in partnership with People and business leaders

  • Manage compensation benchmarking using market data tools (Pave and Ravio), ensuring Legora's pay stays competitive as the company scales across all our markets

  • Lead compensation analytics and insights, including pay equity analysis, range penetration, and executive-ready reporting

  • Prepare analyses and recommendations for merit cycles, promotions, and off-cycle pay adjustments

  • Build forecasting and planning processes for compensation spend across merit cycles, promotions, adjustments, and equity refreshes

  • Partner on equity program design and administration, including RSU/option strategy considerations as the company matures

  • Support executive compensation activities, including executive offer packages, annual executive pay review, and equity support

  • Advise People Business Partners and managers on offer construction, internal equity, and pay decisions

  • Help build scalable compensation processes and tools as Legora's headcount and global footprint grow

  • Build governance frameworks for compensation decisions, including exception handling, approvals, documentation standards, and audit readiness

  • Manage vendor relationships for compensation survey providers and systems (e.g., Pave, Ravio), including contract negotiations and ongoing performance

  • Stay current on pay transparency laws, wage and hour requirements, and data privacy obligations across the geographies Legora operates in

  • Lead and develop a Compensation Analyst, building team capability as Legora scales

  • Support Compensation Committee deliverables and meetings

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of progressive compensation experience, including program design and benchmarking at a growing company

  • Deep familiarity with compensation benchmarking platforms (Pave, Ravio, or similar) and job architecture frameworks

  • Experience supporting equity compensation programs (options and/or RSUs) is a strong plus

  • Experience supporting or leading executive compensation processes is a strong plus

  • Comfort operating with a builder mindset — you enjoy creating structure where things are still taking shape

  • Strong analytical skills paired with the judgment to translate data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders

  • Excellent cross-functional partnership skills; you work well with People, Finance, and business leaders alike

  • Experience managing or mentoring a compensation analyst or coordinator, with the ability to grow the team over time

  • Experience managing vendor relationships (e.g., survey providers, compensation systems), including negotiations and performance management

  • Experience supporting a fast-growing, globally distributed workforce (ideally spanning the U.S., UK, EU/Nordics, and APAC)
