Electrical Test Engineer

As an Electrical Test Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a part of the Hardware Test engineering team. We develop the wide variety of computing, sensing and actuation, power, and communications systems that are at the core of our automation system. We’re looking for a broadly experienced individual to apply their electrical engineering and software automation skills to develop robust test solutions for complex hardware in a safety-critical environment. This is a clean-slate opportunity to grow our primitive test operations into a production worthy operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of automated test equipment systems for functional, environmental qualification, and manufacturing acceptance tests

• Analyze test results to identify failure modes, lead root cause investigations, and drive improvements back into designs

• Author, execute, and audit test plans, procedures, and reports

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate successful testing campaigns

• Drive continuous improvement to test system infrastructure, processes, and practices

Basic Success Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience

• 2+ years of full cycle electronics hardware test or development experience in a professional environment

• Experience with programming/scripting languages (C, C++, Python) and ability to develop and maintain test software

• Ability to methodically diagnose, document, and solve electronic hardware problems

Preferred Criteria

• Advanced degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering

• Familiarity with formal industry test standards such as RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-461/810, or similar

• Experience with test equipment, measurement techniques, and processes for hardware verification

• Experience developing and simulating complex and manufacturable printed circuit board assemblies using tools such as Altium Designer and SPICE

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally across multiple organizations

This role provides an opportunity to own a wide variety of testing that is essential in verifying the safe and reliable operation of the next generation of avionics for unmanned aircraft systems.

This role is on-site in Mountain View, CA or Seattle, WA. Must be willing to travel 30% of the time.
