From the original posting
The role:
You will lead the Cloud Infrastructure team that runs the foundation Truecaller is built on: compute, Kubernetes, networking, IAM and stateful data stores on GCP. You’ll own the team’s people, delivery and operational health, and partner with our infrastructure lead on technical direction, turning it into a roadmap the team ships reliably.
What you’ll do:
- Lead, hire, coach and grow a team of infrastructure engineers
- Own the team’s roadmap and planning, balancing reliability, cost, security and developer needs
- Run Cloud Infra as a platform product: self-serve tooling that lets product teams provision and scale safely
- Own operational excellence: SLOs, on-call health, incident response and blameless postmortems
- Drive capacity planning and cloud cost efficiency with application teams and finance
- Partner with the infrastructure architect and other infra leads on long-term technical direction
What you bring in:
- 2+ years managing infrastructure/SRE/platform engineers, including hiring and performance management
- A track record of delivering large infra programs (migrations, platform rollouts) across teams
- Strong technical grounding in GCP (or AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, Linux and distributed systems: enough to challenge designs and make trade-offs, not necessarily to write the operators yourself
- Experience running incident management and building a healthy on-call culture
- Comfort owning cloud cost and capacity conversations with business stakeholders
- Experience deploying and scaling apache cassandra, scyllaDB, mysql, postgresql, redis or memcached.
- Familiarity with Go programming language experience or willingness to learn coding in Go
- A comprehensive compensation package: Learning and development allowance, voluntary provident fund (VPF) and/or national pension scheme (NPS) tax saving option provided, creche allowance
- Modern tools to do your best work: Choose your preferred computer and phone within our budget, so you can work comfortably and efficiently.
- A people-focused office culture: We value in-person collaboration and follow an office-first model, with some flexibility. Our offices offer a vibrant environment with opportunities to learn, connect, and recharge, from breakfast, lunch and quiet spaces to team activities such as movie nights, tech meetups, and cultural events. There's something for everyone.
- Truecaller’s “Lab Days” offer a space for imagination: 5 days each quarter, where everyone steps away from their normal tasks to explore new, bold ideas and build things they’ve always wanted to. It’s a space where curiosity leads the way, and prototypes take shape. Some concepts even make it into production, and a few have grown into real features used by millions today. Lab Days allow you to be creative, learn fast, and help shape Truecaller's future.
