Executive Assistant to the Chief Nuclear Officer & DC Office Coordinator


Radiant’s goals are ambitious – we will be the first company to mass-produce portable nuclear reactors. We have world-class engineers designing our Kaleidos 1MW microreactor, and we need a world-class team to build our business. Radiant is looking for a bright and eager executive assistant and office coordinator to join our Government Affairs team in DC and be a welcoming, friendly host to all visitors entering our office.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Executive Assistant to the Chief Nuclear Officer (CNO)

  • Manage CNO’s dynamic schedule, including frequent domestic and international travel, external meetings with high-profile officials, interviews with the press, and worldwide speaking engagements

  • Become familiar with Radiant’s wide-spanning public and private sector network and balance the CNO’s priorities across external stakeholder engagements and internal projects

  • Attend calls with event organizers on behalf of the CNO

  • You will often represent the CNO and the wider company – handle all communications and engagements (internal & external, virtual & in-person) with respectful professionalism

Office/Administrative

  • Assist with various office administration tasks (filing, supply ordering, restocking, inventory, tech set-up, and supplies organization)

  • Order catering and supplies for meetings, team engagement events, conferences, etc.

  • Assist People Operations (HR) with onsite event logistics, recruitment scheduling, and candidate experience

  • Spearhead ad-hoc office, administrative, or analytics tasks

  • Be the team culture creator: plan team happy hours, lunches, outings, etc.

  • Manage a monthly office budget and stay on top of expenses

Run our reception desk/front office, including:

  • Create a welcoming front-office experience for staff, visitors, and our community

  • Facilitate the visitor experience while enforcing critical security protocols

  • Direct vendors, contractors, and freight deliveries

  • Answer phone calls

Shipping & Receiving

  • Receive mail and deliveries, and track items in our inventory software

  • Ship packages and drop-off/pick-up at the post office, FedEx, or UPS

Project Management

  • Manage 3rd party contractors, responsible for both budget and timeline

  • Plan widely attended celebrations for 100+ guests 2-3 times per year: venue booking, catering, decoration, guest list & invitations, etc.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to balance a myriad of priorities and coordinate across team calendars while maintaining professionalism

  • Inclination to raise your hand to tackle projects, even when you feel underprepared and/or the scope isn’t clearly defined

  • Ability to work independently in a very dynamic environment

  • Knowing when to pick up the phone and have a live conversation – for the sake of efficiency, clarity, tension diffusion, etc.

  • Positive attitude

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission

  • Ability to lift ~50 lb loads, build basic furniture, walk up and down stairs
