Who we’re looking for

As a Fabrication Technician on our Fab team, you will own turning raw stock into finished, boat ready components. That spans setting up and running our CNC equipment, fabricating and welding metal parts, fixtures, and assemblies, and keeping our fab shop safe, organized, and moving. Day to day focus shifts between machining, welding, and general fabrication based on what the shop and the build schedule need.

We're looking for someone fired up by the mission and ready to build. You'll thrive here if you move fast, take ownership, and care about the details.

This is a full-time, on-site role at our Los Angeles headquarters.

What You'll Do

  • Setting up and operating CNC mills (3 and 5 axis), including programming parts with support from our CNC lead
  • Running manual mills and lathes for one off parts, rework, and secondary operations
  • Fabricating brackets, mounts, enclosures, and structural components from drawings, sketches, and verbal direction across Production and R&D builds
  • Cutting, bending, forming, and drilling sheet metal, plate, tube, and bar stock using saws, shears, press brakes, and drill presses
  • Welding and assembling steel, aluminum, and stainless steel parts using MIG and TIG processes
  • Deburring, tapping, finishing, and assembling machined parts
  • Building jigs, fixtures, and shop tooling that make our builds faster and more repeatable
  • Inspecting parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Supporting engineers with rapid prototypes and sharing hands on feedback on design for manufacturability
  • Keeping the fab shop clean, safe, and stocked with consumables, tools, and materials

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands on experience in metal fabrication and machining in a production, prototype, or job shop environment
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC mills
  • Experience with MIG welding on mild steel
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and basic GD&T
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
  • Experience with common shop equipment: bandsaws, shears, press brakes, grinders, and drill presses
  • Comfort shifting between machining, welding, and fabrication work as priorities change
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision at a fast but sustainable pace
  • Enthusiasm for boating and clean energy
  • This is an active role that will require consistent physical activity and standing for a majority of the shift
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs

Bonus Qualifications

  • CAM programming experience with Fusion, Mastercam, or similar
  • 5 axis CNC setup and operation
  • Experience with TIG welding aluminum or stainless steel
  • Experience in marine, automotive, aerospace, or EV manufacturing
  • Experience working with composites, fiberglass, or other nonmetallic materials
  • Familiarity with CAD tools like Fusion, SolidWorks, or NX for reviewing models and drawings
  • Comfortable pushing a fast but sustainable pace
  • Enthusiasm for boating and clean energy
