From the original posting

Company Overview:

We are building Protege to solve the biggest unmet need in AI — getting access to the right training data. The process today is time intensive, incredibly expensive, and often ends in failure. The Protege platform facilitates the secure, efficient, and privacy-centric exchange of AI training data.

Solving AI’s data problem is a generational opportunity. We’re backed by world-class investors and already powering partnerships with some of the most ambitious teams in AI. The company that succeeds will be one of the largest in AI — and in tech.

We’re a lean, fast-moving, high-trust team of builders who are obsessed with velocity and impact. Our culture is built for people who thrive on ambiguity, own outcomes, and want to shape the future of data and AI.

What You’ll Do:

  • Execute Protege-led and co-sponsored events from planning to execution to attribution in the East Coast and Europe on extremely tight deadlines with fluid changes that happen in real time

  • Host events on-the-ground as both the events manager and the face of Protege as needed, solving last-minute venue details to hit our high bar for event quality

  • Source, manage, and coordinate all third-party events staff, such as catering, AV, greeters, photography/videography, floral, venue staff, etc.

  • Partner directly with key commercial team and DataLab research team members to prioritize and match event design, programming, and customization to clear goals

  • Own internal team planning, logistics, and travel for events you own - and improve the marketing team’s playbooks accordingly

  • Connect events and activations to clear commercial outcomes such as pipeline generation, account expansion opportunities, and new commercial and partnership targets identified

  • Generate and write social media content to promote, document, and publicize events online

  • Work directly with the Field Marketing Lead and Marketing team to test new event activations and formats and drive commercial and researcher community outcomes and plan future activations, as well as larger-scale flagship events and conferences

  • Strong organizational instincts, you manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects without dropping details

  • Actively use AI tools to create leverage and stay on top of operational execution

  • Travel ~2–3x per month, with regular presence in New York City and London

What Success Looks Like

Day 0–30: Onboard and Orient

  • Onboard to Protege's field marketing system and processes, and learn how the field marketing motion connects to Sales, Researcher Community, and technical content.

  • Shadow an existing in-flight event end-to-end and contribute to logistics.

  • Meet with every salesperson and marketing team member, connecting their accounts to existing and net-new events.

  • Kick off your first commercial or researcher community event — one you'll own from start to finish.

Day 31–60: Own City-Level Execution

  • Execute your first small-scale Protege event end-to-end, without in-person supervision from another marketing team member.

  • Own planning and execution of a full city's events for researcher community engagements.

  • Own planning and execution of a full city's events for Commercial / Sales.

  • Take ownership of the work plan for both researcher community and commercial events in your city (or cities).

  • Execute 2–3 of those events end-to-end.

Day 61–90: Contribute to Flagship events

  • Continue everything above, and support large-scale flagship event and conference planning for 2027.

  • Work directly with the Head of Marketing and field marketing team on 2027 large events by owning a full workstream (e.g., venue walkthrough, vendor management).

What You Bring:

  • You have personally owned B2B conferences, corporate dinners, or hosted activations from logistics to wrap-up recap

  • You have an established track record of connecting both large and small-scale events to commercial outcomes, rather than simply executing events that have been assigned

  • You have the gift of hospitality, the poise of a seasoned host, and the detail orientation of a project manager

  • Scrappiness and grit — you’ve stretched tight budgets, solved last-minute venue disasters, and still delivered; you figure things out without a playbook

  • A generalist marketing instinct, you’re comfortable writing a LinkedIn post, updating a one-pager, or jumping into a campaign when the team needs it; you don’t say “that’s not my job”

  • Startup-wired mindset, you are comfortable building systems from scratch and iterating quickly; ambiguity energizes rather than paralyzes you

  • Experience in a fast-moving, high-growth environment where priorities evolved quickly and you adapted just as fast.
