Joblaze insights
Quick facts
From the original posting
We're building a regional finance and operations hub in Buenos Aires, and this is one of the first roles in it. Reporting to the Financial Controller, Argentina & Uruguay, you'll own the accounting that sits underneath everything else: payables, reconciliations, the general ledger, and the preparation that makes our close and tax filings run cleanly.
The team is small, so you'll get real responsibility early and exposure to work well beyond a typical accountant role. Processes are being built as you join, and you'll be expected to improve them, not just follow them.
This suits someone early in their career who wants range, likes getting the detail right, and would rather fix a broken process than work around it.
Accounts payable: supplier onboarding, invoice processing and payment runs across both entities.
Bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, completed on time as part of the monthly close.
General ledger accuracy: journals, accruals and coding that the Controller doesn't need to recheck.
Inventory and fixed asset records for collar stock and equipment held in-country.
Tax filing preparation and documentation for the Controller and external advisors.
Expense and payroll inputs, working with our People team and local providers.
Must-haves
A minimum of 3 years in accounting, audit or finance operations
Working knowledge of Argentine accounting, tax and payment processes.
Strong Excel skills and close attention to detail.
Fluency in Spanish and good working English.
Comfort with unfinished processes and being asked to help build them.
Nice-to-haves
Exposure to Uruguayan compliance.
Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP.
Inventory accounting experience in a product or hardware business.
Interest in automation, SQL or AI tooling.
Suppliers are paid correctly and on time.
Reconciliations are done on time and don't need rechecking.
At least one process you inherited runs faster or with less manual work because of you.
You're being trusted with more complex close and tax work by the end of the year.
This role rewards Absolute Ownership at the level where it matters most: the transactions everything else is built on. It suits someone who believes in We Work Hard and Here to Win, where effort shows up as accuracy and follow-through, and who can Embrace Discomfort as the function grows around them.
Humans are wired for connection. Being office first is a core pillar of our culture because in-person connections drive your growth, learning, impact, and relationships. Strong relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, and do meaningful work together.
We're office first, not office only. Working from the office is our default, but we flex when needed. We have a high-trust culture where everyone is trusted to do what's best for Halter.
Our office vibe is special, the high energy and spectacular people make work enjoyable. Your growth and impact are unlimited here, coming from solving problems, innovating, and constantly learning from each other.
Work that genuinely matters. Every now and again a company comes along that transforms an entire industry and leaves the world in a better place. Our team gets to be part of something truly meaningful, helping farmers improve their livelihoods, spend more time with their families, and build more sustainable operations.
