From the original posting

About this role.

This is a critical role at a fast-scaling company with bold ambitions and significant growth ahead. As Halter expands into new markets, we're covering more ground than ever, at a pace we haven't experienced before. This role exists to help us employ incredible people compliantly, and to keep our immigration and right-to-work position airtight. Your work will directly enable Halter to keep hiring and deploying talent globally, at pace and with confidence.

As our Global People Operations Specialist, you'll work closely with our People Strategy & Delivery Lead to deliver critical operational workstreams with global mobility, immigration, and right-to-work as a core focus, alongside broader support as Halter enters new markets.

This is not a passive or back-office role. It requires someone who is highly organised, sharp on the details, and genuinely energised by keeping people moving and giving Halter the confidence to hire and deploy talent globally. You're structured, on top of every thread, and operationally excellent. Your character will matter. You'll need the judgement and integrity to navigate sensitive situations, the communication skills to bring people along with you, and exceptional project management to keep complex, multi-threaded processes moving without things slipping through the cracks.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Global Mobility & Immigration: Drive the end-to-end delivery of immigration and visa cases globally. Own the relocation experience for employees moving internationally - timelines, logistics, and support through what can be a complex process.

  2. Right-to-Work & Employment Compliance: Maintain right-to-work compliance and support broader people compliance work (employment law, policy, and process) as Halter operates in and enters new markets.

  3. Vendor Coordination: Manage day-to-day relationships with immigration and legal vendors across markets, making sure requests are actioned and information flows smoothly.

  4. Internal Mobility: Deliver the operational work behind how we move employees across markets, including logistics, documentation, and timelines.

  5. People Operations Generalist Support: Deliver on other people compliance priorities as they arise. This role will flex and grow as Halter's needs grow.

We're looking for someone who

  1. Has a legal background or holds a law degree.

  2. Experience in a fast-paced, detail-heavy, operational role. Immigration or mobility experience is not required. What matters is that you're the kind of person who can pick up complex, unfamiliar processes fast and deliver them well.

  3. A clear and proactive communicator. You write clearly, speak confidently, and are comfortable supporting people through significant life or work changes. No one ever has to chase you for an update.

  4. Comfortable working in situations with ambiguity and pressure.

  5. You've got documentation discipline baked in. You keep clean, organised records without anyone needing to ask.

  6. Strong attention to detail and an interest in developing your project management skills. You run tight threads, and the standard of your work reflects how much you care.

  7. High integrity and sound judgement. You handle sensitive information with integrity and build trust easily.

Our Benefits:

  • Delicious snacks and drinks are available for your daily flow.

  • Healthy body, healthy mind. We're partnered with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support your well-being.

  • We offer 6 months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks of fully paid secondary caregiver leave and many other parental benefits that support you and your family.

  • Our personal growth is important. Halter offers an annual $1000 self-development budget to be used for anything that fuels personal growth.

  • Our time to recharge is valued, we're offered wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.

Our Office First Approach

Humans are wired for connection. Being office first is a core pillar of our culture because in-person connections drive your growth, learning, impact, and relationships. Strong relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, and do meaningful work together.

We're office first, not office only. Working from the office is our default, but we flex when needed. We have a high-trust culture where everyone is trusted to do what's best for Halter.

Our office vibe is special, the high energy and spectacular people make work enjoyable. Your growth and impact are unlimited here, coming from solving problems, innovating, and constantly learning from each other.

Why our team loves working at Halter:

  • Work that genuinely matters. Every now and again a company comes along that transforms an entire industry and leaves the world in a better place. Our team gets to be part of something truly meaningful, helping farmers improve their livelihoods, spend more time with their families, and build more sustainable operations.
