CoreWeave is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hardware Engineer specializing in liquid cooling to join our Hardware Compute organization. This role will focus on the design, deployment, automation, and operation of the liquid cooling infrastructure that keeps CoreWeave’s highest-density GPU platforms running at scale.

As a Hardware Engineer, Liquid Cooling, you will own liquid cooling infrastructure from the rack to the facility interface, balancing hands-on engineering with operational support. You will automate the liquid cooling hardware lifecycle, develop hardware and firmware management services, and build monitoring, alerting, and control systems for pumps, valves, and flow and temperature sensors.

Working closely with data center facilities teams, server OEMs, and cooling vendors, you will qualify new platforms, resolve RMA and quality issues, and troubleshoot live production thermal events through to root cause. You will serve as an escalation point for liquid cooling and thermal issues across all of our deployments, participate in an on-call rotation, and feed operational insights back into platform automation and design improvements.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in hardware, infrastructure, thermal, or platform engineering roles in data center, cloud, or high-performance computing environments.
  • Strong understanding of data center thermal design principles, coolant types, thermal transfer mechanisms, and leak detection methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of server hardware, components, and fleet management technologies.
  • Proficiency in Python or Ansible, with experience programmatically interacting with hardware using Redfish, IPMI, or SSH; Redfish preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting production infrastructure, driving incident escalations through to root-cause resolution, and participating in on-call rotations.
  • Excellent technical documentation, analytical problem-solving skills, and written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with in-rack CDUs (Coolant Distribution Units), liquid-to-air heat exchangers, or remote cooling units.
  • Experience bringing up new data center regions or deploying liquid cooling infrastructure at scale.
  • Familiarity with rack-scale liquid-cooled platforms, such as NVIDIA GB200 / GB300, and CDU vendor management interfaces.
  • Experience with BMC technologies, Kubernetes-based services, and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Familiarity with facility-side systems, including chilled water plants, CRAHs, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
