About Plug
Plug is the marketplace for used electric vehicles. Consumers get an instant cash offer backed by battery-health data, and dealers across the US bid in real time on that inventory. Former Tesla executives founded Plug in 2023. We’ve facilitated $150M in EV sales and raised a $20M Series A led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Why Plug
You’ll own a piece of the biggest infrastructure opportunity in automotive.
You’ll work directly with operators who have scaled multi-billion-dollar businesses in automotive, EV, and marketplaces.
The Role
We’re about 40 people and growing, and we need someone to own IT end to end. You’ll keep our people productive and our systems secure: getting new hires set up on day one, making sure access is removed the day someone leaves, and turning how we run IT into clear, written processes. As a fintech company, we’re held to a high security bar by our banking and lending partners, and you’ll help us meet it.
What You’ll Do
Provide first-line support for IT issues across the company.
Run onboarding and offboarding with HR. Laptops, accounts, and app access are ready on day one. Revoke accounts and collect equipment on the last day.
Administer Google Workspace and Rippling, including user accounts, groups, app provisioning, and device management.
Set and enforce security controls: MFA and SSO, device encryption and updates, password management, and least-privilege access.
Audit accounts, access, licenses, and permissions on a set schedule. Remove what’s no longer used.
Write and maintain the IT SOPs. Follow them consistently.
Manage IT vendors and SaaS tools. Track what we use, renewals, and spend.
Answer security questionnaires and audits from our banking and lending partners.
Manage laptop and equipment inventory, plus conference room and AV equipment.
What You’ll Bring
Minimum qualifications
3+ years in IT support or systems administration.
You’ve owned IT as the primary person responsible for a company’s IT, with or without a team behind you.
Hands-on Google Workspace administration: user accounts, groups, and app provisioning.
Hands-on experience with MFA and SSO. You’ve set them up, enforced them, or managed access through them.
Working knowledge of endpoint management and access control.
Hands-on support for macOS and Windows.
Examples of IT processes or SOPs you’ve written and maintained.
Nice to have
Experience with Rippling or a similar HRIS or device management platform.
Startup or small-company experience.
Scripting or automation for repetitive IT work, such as onboarding, offboarding, or access reviews.
Networking basics and conference room AV experience.
Experience with SOC 2 or a similar security audit.
Not sure you should apply? Do it.
Research consistently shows that people from underrepresented groups are more likely to talk themselves out of applying if they don’t meet 100% of the listed requirements. You don’t need to check every box. If this role excites you and you bring most of what’s listed under “What You’ll Bring,” we want to hear from you.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary: $105,000 to $120,000
Salary ranges come from independent, third-party benchmarking against national compensation data. Where an offer falls within the range depends on relevant experience, specialized skills, training and qualifications, current business needs, and market conditions. We review ranges periodically and may adjust them as the market changes.

401(k) plan
Daily lunch stipend
Equity (based on role and performance)
