About Airbound

Our mission is to make a world where everyone has access to delivery. Where goods move as freely as information moves today.

This is possible. Today the cost of moving on a scooter is ₹2/km. That’s the cost of moving a 150kg mass from point A to B. We’re bringing that mass down to less than 5kgs, concurrently bringing the cost down to 10 paise/km. This is how we make deliveries a reality. This is how we create a world where we’re doing billions of deliveries per day.

The tech is not there. The current cost of drone delivery is ₹100/km. We need to completely redefine the way things are done here. We’re building the world’s most efficient aircraft from the ground-up, and scaling that up to beyond anything the aerospace sector has ever seen. This cannot be an iterative process. We have to tear down all conventions and build everything up from scratch.

To do this, we need nothing less than the best engineers. The ones who care about building something fundamentally different, who are deeply curious about understanding the fundamentals of everything they’re working on, who are dreamers that believe in the impossible.

About the Role

We're hiring our first dedicated in-house IT Support Engineer to own day-to-day IT operations across the company from keeping every laptop and application running smoothly, to helping us build a more secure, resilient IT environment as we scale. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role: you'll be the go-to person for ~140 end-user systems (Windows and Mac), our Google Workspace environment, office networks across two sites, and a growing set of security controls (endpoint protection, firewall, single sign-on, and more) that we're rolling out over the next few months.

You'll work closely with an external Cybersecurity & GRC consultant during the initial rollout phase and take ownership of ongoing operations once controls are in place.

Key Responsibilities

End-user support

  • Be the first point of contact for all IT issues, hardware, software, connectivity, and access across Bengaluru and Guntur

  • Set up, configure, and maintain laptops/desktops (~90% Windows, ~10% Mac) for new joiners and existing staff

  • Maintain a basic IT asset inventory (devices, licenses, warranties)

Network & infrastructure

  • Maintain and troubleshoot office network infrastructure, including wireless access points across both sites

  • Support the rollout and ongoing management of firewall infrastructure and backup internet connectivity

  • Liaise with ISPs and hardware vendors for installations, upgrades, and issue resolution

Security operations (in partnership with our GRC consultant)

  • Deploy and maintain endpoint protection (AV/EDR) across all systems

  • Administer single sign-on (SSO) and manage access provisioning/de-provisioning across business applications

  • Implement and enforce USB/device control policies

  • Support periodic access reviews and basic security hygiene checks (patching, password policies, MFA)

Workplace systems

  • Administer Google Workspace (user accounts, groups, shared drives, permissions)

  • Support AWS-related access requests in coordination with engineering (no infrastructure ownership expected)

  • Maintain documentation for common IT processes, so support isn't dependent on one person's memory

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 3–5 years of experience in an IT support, systems administration, or helpdesk engineering role, ideally in a small-to-mid-sized company where you owned the function end-to-end

  • Hands-on experience supporting both Windows and Mac environments

  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace administration

  • Basic networking fundamentals (Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPNs, troubleshooting connectivity issues)

  • Exposure to endpoint security tools (antivirus/EDR) and access management concepts, deep security expertise not required, willingness to learn and follow a consultant-designed framework is

  • Comfortable being the sole on-the-ground IT person, self-directed, methodical, good at triaging and prioritizing

  • Clear communicator who can support non-technical colleagues patiently and without jargon

  • Willingness to travel periodically to field operations

Good to Have

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, hardware, or field-operations environment

  • Familiarity with AWS basics (IAM users, S3 permissions)

  • Experience with MDM tools or device management platforms

Work location: Hoskote, Bangalore (Headquarters) | With periodic travel to field operations in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh)

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive health insurance to keep you and your loved ones covered

  • Relocation assistance and a daily travel stipend to ease your commute

  • Advanced salary credit to support you when you need it

“A driven, passionate team where you’ll have room to grow and thrive - this is more than just a job, it’s a rare opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up”

Work Schedule:

  • In-office role, working alternate Saturdays.
