About the Job

Blackbird is looking for a Product Manager to help lead our payments and loyalty platform to its next chapter. You'll influence the product experience across both sides of our marketplace: the restaurants who utilize Blackbird in their daily operations and the diners who deserve to feel like a VIP every time they walk through the door. This is a high-ownership role on a small, fast-moving team where your decisions will directly shape what we build, how fast we ship, and how interactions between restaurants and guests unfold.

You'll work at the intersection of consumer experience, consumer loyalty, payments, and real-time restaurant operations, a uniquely complex and rewarding product space. If you thrive in ambiguity, think deeply about users, move with urgency, and love building products that create incredible real-world experiences, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap for critical portions of the Blackbird platform and product experience end-to-end, from strategy and prioritization through execution and launch

  • Define and drive the product vision for features that balance speed, quality, and scale across both our restaurant-facing and consumer-facing experiences

  • Partner closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and operations to ship high-quality product at a pace that keeps us ahead of the market

  • Deeply understand our users, including restaurant operators, servers, and diners, through research, data analysis, and time spent in the field

  • Translate complex operational and technical constraints into elegant, user-centered product solutions

  • Develop strategies to create product leverage through AI tools

  • Set clear goals and metrics for your product areas, track progress rigorously, and use data to inform iteration

  • Identify and untangle systemic problems across payments flows, loyalty mechanics, and restaurant integrations - then build and launch the solutions

  • Represent the voice of the customer in every cross-functional conversation and continuously elevate the bar for user experience

Requirements

  • 4+ years of product management experience, ideally with a track record in consumer experiences, payments, fintech, or marketplace platforms

  • Demonstrated ability to ship impactful product in a fast-moving environment without sacrificing quality or long-term scalability

  • High ownership mentality with the grit to push through hard problems and the judgment to know when to cut scope and when to hold the line

  • Strong user empathy - you talk to customers regularly and let real insight drive your decisions

  • Exceptional cross-functional collaborator who can align engineering, design, marketing, and business stakeholders around a shared vision

  • Analytical and structured thinker who is equally comfortable writing a PRD, digging into a funnel, or whiteboarding a system design

  • Clear, compelling communicator who can influence without authority and bring people along

Nice to Haves

  • Background in consumer apps with loyalty, rewards, or membership mechanics

  • Excited about the application of AI into building world class products

  • Experience at a high-growth startup where scope was fluid and ambiguity was the norm
