From the original posting

From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.

About Us

Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.

Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on.

Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions.

As we bring our teams and technology together, we’re building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products and experiences our customers know and trust. It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact.

During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.

About the Role

As a member of the COO Office you will be responsible for defining how the combined Fivetran + dbt Labs organization uses its core collaborative platforms to get work done.

As we bring two companies together, we inherit two sets of tooling conventions across every major platform — with no single owner responsible for defining a consistent, governed baseline. This role owns that mandate. The majority of the work centers on making Notion excellent as NewCo’s primary knowledge management platform: workspace governance, information architecture, content standards, and page ownership. Beyond Notion, the role publishes and maintains best-practice guidance for Slack, Google Workspace, and Jira, and partners with department champions to drive adoption across the company.

This role also leverages AI to manage these systems — keeping workspaces clean, enforcing best practices, and partnering with the AI Transformation team to align on how we use AI within these tools.

This is a full-time position based out of our Denver office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.

What You’ll Do

Define and drive NewCo’s ways of working across six dimensions:

  • How we collaborate internally — set standards for how teams work together inside Notion, Slack, and Google Workspace
  • How we collaborate externally — extend that guidance to shared spaces with partners, customers, and vendors, outlining what should differ from our internal norms
  • How we make decisions — establish lightweight, documented decision-making practices (e.g. DACI-style ownership)
  • How we document — own Notion governance, information architecture, and content standards so our knowledge base is a trusted source of truth
  • How we project manage — set shared baselines for Jira project and program structure, naming, and usage
  • How we communicate — define Slack conventions, channel governance, and async norms

Alongside these:

  • Define what “good” looks like for each core tool and publish it as canonical, company-wide guidance
  • Leverage AI to keep workspaces clean, audit for inconsistencies, and maintain standards at scale
  • Run recurring compliance checks and drive channels and workspaces into conformance over time
  • Partner with department champions to roll out standards and support adoption
  • Align with the AI Transformation team on how we apply AI within these tools
  • Incorporate ongoing employee-experience feedback from the People team to refine standards
  • Provide executional support for COO Office communications, in coordination with the Head of Internal Communications

Skills We’re Looking For

  • Deep, hands-on expertise administering Notion at scale — governance, databases, information architecture, and permissions
  • Strong working command of Slack, Google Workspace, and Jira administration and best practices
  • Proven ability to define standards and drive cross-functional adoption without direct authority
  • Excellent written communication — able to produce clear, canonical guidance that teams actually follow
  • Program management discipline: can run rollouts, track compliance, and manage stakeholders across functions
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building a function from the ground up
  • Strong judgment on where to standardize vs. where to leave teams autonomy

Required AI Competencies

  • Advanced fluency with conversational AI systems (Claude, ChatGPT) — not just basic prompting, but structuring complex, multi-step work and reliably getting high-quality output
  • Demonstrated track record of redesigning workflows around AI, not merely bolting it onto existing processes — able to identify where AI creates real leverage and where it doesn’t
  • Hands-on experience with AI features native to our core tools (e.g. Notion AI, Glean-style search, Atlassian Intelligence) and the judgment to codify their use into company best practices
  • Ability to build AI-assisted governance at scale — using AI to audit workspaces, surface inconsistencies, and maintain standards across thousands of pages and channels
  • Fluency with AI agents and automation to eliminate manual, repetitive administration

Bonus Skills

  • Experience standing up tooling governance during a merger, acquisition, or major org integration
  • Notion certification or comparable demonstrated platform mastery
  • Experience building AI-driven internal tools, automations, or agents
  • Familiarity with change management frameworks
