About the Role

GPU compute is turning into an asset class, and almost nobody is writing about it with real data. You would be Ornn's first dedicated research analyst, publishing the work that hedge funds, consultancies, lenders and operators read to understand where compute prices are going and why.

You'll sit at the center of Ornn Data. Our index draws on more than 150 providers and roughly 1,000 transactions a day, and you'll turn that into research our clients pay for and our sales and markets teams use in every conversation.

What You'll Do

  • Publish regular research on the compute market: weekly pricing notes, monthly market reports, and deeper pieces on GPU generations, supply coming online, contract terms and residual values.

  • Cover the companies that shape the market: hyperscalers, neoclouds, chipmakers, data center developers and their capex plans.

  • Take calls with institutional clients, consultancies and lenders, and present at client meetings and industry events.

  • Manage our freelance writers and researchers, set the research calendar and hold the bar on quality.

Requirements

  • 1 to 4 years in equity or credit research, commodities research, or a research role at a fund, data provider or consultancy.

  • Strong modeling skills in Excel and comfort working with large datasets.

  • Clear, fast writing. You can turn a messy dataset into a sharp one-page view with a point of view.

  • Real curiosity about AI infrastructure and how compute is bought, sold and financed.

  • Comfortable working independently in a lean team.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Sell side coverage of semiconductors, data centers, cloud or TMT.

  • Experience with commodity markets, benchmarks or index products.

  • Python or SQL.

  • An existing following or published work in the AI infrastructure space.

Why This Role Matters

A market only works when people trust the information about it. Ornn's index, futures work with ICE and data business all depend on being the most credible voice on what compute costs. This role is how that credibility shows up in the world every week, and how Ornn becomes the first place institutions go to understand the asset.

Compensation and Benefits

Benefits include competitive salary, meaningful equity, health coverage, meals, and additional benefits.
