From the original posting

Razorpay is one of India’s leading full-stack financial technology companies, powering the way businesses move, manage, and grow money. Founded in 2014 by Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar with a simple vision - to simplify payments for Indian businesses - we’ve since grown into a fintech powerhouse driving India’s digital payment revolution.

Razorpay's IFSC entity operates as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) regulated by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). This role sits within the Risk Management function and is responsible for risk identification, monitoring and management across the entity's business activities in line with IFSCA requirements. The incumbent will work closely with Operations and Compliance to implement the IFSCA risk-based approach – covering business risk assessment, customer risk assessment and enterprise-wide risk assessment from an AML-CFT and KYC perspective – and will support the designated official at the IFSC level in ensuring payment service activities are carried out in line with the risk management practices set out in Board-approved policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Identification & Management: Identify, assess and monitor business, customer and enterprise-wide risks in line with IFSCA's risk-based approach and the entity's risk management policies.
  • Transaction Monitoring: Monitor transactions for unusual or suspicious patterns, investigate system-generated alerts, and escalate red flags for further action within defined timelines.
  • Sanction Screening: Conduct sanction and watchlist screening of customers and transactions, and ensure timely and accurate closure of screening alerts.
  • Fraud & Chargeback Management: Review and manage fraud cases and chargebacks, identify patterns and trends, and recommend controls to mitigate recurring risks.
  • SAR Reporting: Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with complete supporting documentation and submit them to the Compliance Officer accurately and within prescribed timelines.
  • AML-CFT & KYC Risk Assessments: Support business risk assessment, customer risk assessment and enterprise-wide risk assessment from an AML-CFT and KYC standpoint, in coordination with the Compliance function.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Partner with the Operations and Compliance teams to ensure risk management practices are consistently implemented across payment service activities.
  • Policy Adherence & MIS: Ensure adherence to approved risk management policies and procedures, and maintain accurate records and MIS for internal review and regulatory reporting.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field. A certification such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) is an added advantage.
  • Experience: 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in risk management, AML/KYC, transaction monitoring, sanction screening, or fraud and chargeback management – preferably within a bank, NBFC, payment aggregator/PSP, or fintech organisation.

Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of AML-CFT, KYC and sanctions screening frameworks and processes.
  • Familiarity with IFSCA regulations applicable to payment service providers, or general knowledge of RBI/payment industry regulatory frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring and case management systems, and strong working knowledge of MS Excel for data analysis.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with close attention to detail.
  • Clear written communication skills for report writing and SAR documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively across Operations, Compliance and other functions.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
