Joblaze insights
Quick facts
From the original posting
We are looking for a Senior Brand Designer to help shape how SpaceXAI shows up in the world. This role is built for someone who has built brand systems in fast-moving environments, cares deeply about craft, and brings an AI-first mindset to how creative work gets made. You’ll join the Brand Studio, the team behind the brand across the entire SpaceXAI ecosystem (from Grok and Grok Bot to X), and help shape both the brand system itself and how it comes to life in our campaigns.
This is a hands-on role. Much of the foundation is still being built, so you’ll spend real time designing and making things yourself. It also comes with significant ownership: you’ll lead projects from first concept through final execution, and your work will help set the bar for how the brand evolves.
Brand system: Evolve and extend the visual identity (logo, typography, color, layout, imagery, and graphic language) and document it so other teams can apply it correctly.
Workflows & toolkits: Turn recurring design work into repeatable, AI-assisted workflows: templates, tools, and generators that let marketing, product, and other teams produce on-brand work without you in the room.
Campaigns: Concept and design campaigns end to end, from first idea through final production, across key visuals, launch assets, web, social, paid, out-of-home, and print.
Creative direction: Direct agencies and freelancers with clear briefs and candid feedback so the output meets the bar you’d set yourself.
Collaboration: Partner with marketing, product, engineering, and leadership; bring a brand point of view to new surfaces as they appear, and present your thinking clearly to senior stakeholders.
Range at speed: Move between projects quickly while holding a consistently high bar, and keep improving the process, not just the output.
6+ years of brand design experience, in-house or at an agency or studio.
Fluency in AI coding tools, especially Cursor. You can build your own tools, scripts, prototypes, and simple web pages instead of waiting on engineering.
A portfolio that shows both brand system work and shipped campaigns. Bonus if it includes tools or workflows you built.
Sharp typography, layout, and art direction instincts.
A systems mindset: you naturally turn one-off tasks into reusable processes and think about how creative work scales.
Conviction in your design decisions and the ability to explain why they matter, to designers, marketers, and leadership alike.
Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Self-directed, fast, and energized by variety and ambiguity.
Experience building or relaunching a brand identity at a fast-growing tech company.
Motion sensibility, enough to design with motion in mind and direct motion designers.
Experience leading agencies on large, multi-channel campaigns.
