About the Role

The Americas Marketing Programs & Platforms team is seeking a Senior Events Manager to own Cloudflare's events across both the shows we sponsor and the events we host. You'll set the strategy for how Cloudflare shows up at the biggest stages in security, infrastructure, and developer technology, and you'll own complex, multifaceted Cloudflare-hosted event programs end to end: concept, content, production, and execution.

This is not a logistics-only role, and it's not one flavor of event. Because our calendar is seasonal and fast-moving, you'll move fluidly between sponsoring another organization's event (our booth, speaking sessions, sponsorships, and activations) and hosting a full event ourselves. Equally important, you'll be the connective tissue between marketing and the field: making sure the sales organization knows where we'll be, why it matters, and exactly how to turn our presence into real conversations, pipeline, and revenue. And like everyone at Cloudflare, you'll approach the work as a builder, treating AI as a partner to automate the manual, ship faster, and make every event smarter than the last.

What You'll Do

Own Event Strategy & Portfolio

  • Own the end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution for Cloudflare's Tier 1 event portfolio across the Americas, spanning both events we sponsor (booth, speaking, sponsorships, activations) and events we host outright.
  • Build and manage the annual event portfolio, prioritization framework, and budget, making deliberate trade-offs between hosted and sponsored investments, and deciding where we show up and how big we go.
  • Define objectives for every event (brand, demand, pipeline, or customer expansion) and align cross-functional teams around them before work begins.

Lead Hosted Events End-to-End

  • Own the full strategy and execution of complex, multifaceted Cloudflare-hosted event programs (conferences, summits, executive forums, workshops, and roadshows), from concept and agenda design through production, registration, run-of-show, and post-event follow-up.
  • Design the attendee experience across every facet: content and speaker programming, venue and floor plan, production/AV and streaming, registration and communications, and on-site operations.
  • Build the cross-functional team and run-of-show for each event, managing agencies, vendors, speakers, and internal stakeholders to deliver a polished, on-brand experience.
  • Own the hosted-event budget, timeline, and risk plan end to end, holding a high quality bar while shipping on schedule.

Drive Sponsored Presence, Experience & Thought Leadership

  • Lead booth strategy and experience design on the expo floor: creative concept, floor plan, demos, staffing, swag, and lead capture — creating a presence that stands out in a crowded hall.
  • Drive our thought leadership motion: speaker submissions, session strategy, keynote/theater content, executive briefings, and customer story placement.
  • Negotiate and manage sponsorships and branding opportunities, and design activations and on-site moments that break through and earn attention.

Activate the Sales Field

  • Build and run the field activation motion for every Tier 1 show and hosted event: pre-event briefings, target account mapping, meeting-booking playbooks, staffing plans, and post-event follow-up cadence.
  • Equip AEs, SDRs, SEs, and CSMs to make the most of our presence: pre-event outreach templates, at-show playbooks, demo scripts, and a meeting concierge for high-value accounts.
  • For hosted events, drive the right registrations and attendance against target accounts and pipeline goals, partnering with field marketing and Sales to turn invitations into engaged attendees.
  • Partner with Sales Operations and Marketing Operations to ensure lead capture, routing, and attribution are airtight, so every conversation is tracked and followed up.

Prove Impact, Optimize & Build

  • Define and report on the KPIs that matter for each event: pipeline influenced, meetings booked, leads captured, registration and attendance, brand/sentiment lift, and speaker slots earned. Then turn the numbers into a clear ROI story for leadership.
  • Own vendor and agency relationships, production partners, and cross-functional contributors; manage timelines, contracts, and budget to the dollar across multiple simultaneous events.
  • Approach the work with an AI-native, builder's mindset: build lightweight tools and automations (using OpenCode, Claude, Gemini, or similar) to streamline event operations, lead processing, enablement, and reporting, and share what you build with the team.
  • Run retrospectives after every major show and event and turn learnings into a better, more automated playbook for the next one.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years in event marketing, experiential marketing, or field marketing, with deep experience owning both hosted and sponsored events end-to-end.
  • Proven track record leading complex, high-budget event programs ($1M+ annual budgets), including producing hosted events (venue, content, production, registration) and running sponsorships, booth builds, and executive programming at third-party conferences.
  • Strong sales-enablement instinct: demonstrated ability to activate field teams, drive pre-event pipeline, and tie events to tangible, attributable revenue.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to run multiple events simultaneously with competing timelines, budgets, and stakeholders, without dropping the ball.
  • Experience managing agencies and developing interns or junior marketers.
  • Agility and comfort shifting between hosted and sponsored programs as the calendar demands.
  • Experience working with AI tools (OpenCode, Claude, Gemini, or similar) to build solutions, automate workflows, and solve problems, not just consume outputs.
  • Natural curiosity about people, products, processes, and technologies, with the ability to ask insightful questions and uncover what actually drives results.
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership: comfortable aligning product, sales, brand, PR, and executive stakeholders and managing up.
  • Sharp budget management, vendor negotiation, and agency management skills.
  • Data-driven mindset: comfortable working with Salesforce, marketing automation, and lead routing/attribution to prove impact.
  • Bias for action and willingness to experiment with new approaches, tactics, and channels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in B2B security, infrastructure, cloud, or developer-facing marketing.
  • Familiarity with events like RSA Conference, Black Hat, AWS re:Invent, Gartner summits, and similar Tier 1 shows.
  • Experience producing both in-person and hybrid/virtual events, including broadcast/streaming production.
