What You’ll Do
We’re looking for an IT Engineer who looks at every process as an opportunity to automate. If you’ve ever looked at your coffee machine and thought, “I wish I could run a bash command to make my morning cup” and then made it happen, you’re who we’re looking for.
You will be the primary owner of the IT automations that keep our operations running. Whether that means Workato recipes, Okta Workflows, Agentic Support flows, or really cool crons, you will run the automation backbone of the whole of IT. You will take it over from day one and keep it running without failures. Then you will make it better. You will build quick wins that give hours back to IT, create workflows that remove manual steps, and start moving IT configuration, infrastructure, and identity into code that is versioned, reviewed, and repeatable.
This is a senior, hands-on role on the IT Engineering team. You will set your own priorities, work with little supervision, and partner with Security Operations and IT Business Applications wherever your work touches theirs.
This role will be responsible for…..
Owning onboarding, termination, and device logistics automation end to end: keeping every flow healthy, finding the root cause of every failure, and fixing it for good
Running the IT Workato workspace, including recipes, connections, error handling, and alerts.
Building the safety net: runbooks, monitoring, and a clear failure response for the IT flows that cannot break
Building workflows in Okta and Rovo/Jira that remove manual steps from IT processes
Laying the foundation for IT as code: a repository, cloud-hosted in-house tooling, and Terraform, CI/CD, and linters, with Python and Bash to tie it together
Partnering with Security Operations on access scoping, termination timing, and cloud approval, and with Business Applications on platform-level Workato access and limits
Taking over from the engineer who runs these flows today through a partnered hand-off. Ownership transfers when you start, and runbooks and peer review back you up.
Holding a reliability bar of 99% or better each calendar month.
Reporting on flow reliability, failures, and their causes to IT leadership
Demonstrating a commitment to integrity, process improvement, and customer satisfaction
Must have hands-on experience building and running automations in a workflow or integration platform. Workato is preferred, and tools such as Zapier, Tines, or Okta Workflows are equally welcome
Must have experience writing Python to automate business or IT processes, including calls to REST APIs
Must have a habit of finding root causes: you add error handling and alerts so failures show up before people notice them
Must have working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and data mapping between systems
Must be able to write runbooks that another engineer can use to run and repair a flow, and to turn a business process into working automation with Security, People, and IT partners
Practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
5+ years of experience in IT engineering, systems engineering, or automation engineering
DevOps experience is a bonus
Experience supporting a distributed or remote-first workforce
Prior experience owning an automation platform or critical workflows with little supervision
Required Tech Stack Experience
Workato (or a similar automation platform, such as Zapier, Tines, or Okta Workflows)
Python or Bash
REST APIs and webhooks
Collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, Google Workspace)
What Sets You Apart?
You know Okta well, including administration, the API, and Okta Workflows
You have managed configuration, infrastructure, or identity as code with Terraform, CI/CD, and linters, and you are comfortable in Bash and Linux
You have built Rovo or Jira workflows, or used Workato Genie or similar AI agent features, for real operational work
You have automated onboarding, offboarding, or device lifecycle processes and can show the reliability results
You have worked in a high-growth SaaS or cybersecurity company
You hold relevant certifications such as Okta, Workato, or similar
Travel Required
We are a fully remote company, and this job may require up to 10% of travel to be successful.
