About the Role

As MongoDB scales, our Finance organization needs systems that scale with it. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Finance Technology - to lead a team of Product Managers, NetSuite Engineers, and Engineers who build and evolve the financial technology platform behind Tax, Treasury, Accounting, Source-to-Pay (S2P), and FP&A.

This is a player-coach leadership role at the intersection of Finance, Product, and Engineering. You will own the technical direction for the finance technology stack, turn complex finance requirements into scalable, automated, and compliant solutions, and build a high-performing team that delivers measurable business outcomes. You will also own our NetSuite engineering function, leading the team that develops, integrates, and maintains our ERP platform as the foundation for Finance. You will partner closely with the CFO organization, Controllership, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, FP&A, IT, Security, and Data teams.

This role is based in the US. [Palo Alto/ New York]

Key Responsibilities

Fintech Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and execute a multi-year fintech strategy and roadmap across Tax, Treasury, Accounting, S2P, and FP&A, aligned to Finance priorities and company growth plans
  • Prioritize investments using clear business cases, ROI, and risk considerations, balancing quick wins against foundational platform work
  • Drive automation, AI-enabled workflows, and self-service capabilities that reduce manual effort and shorten close, planning, and procurement cycles
  • Stay ahead of fintech trends, ERP and finance platform best practices, and emerging technologies, and apply them where they create value

Product & Engineering Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of Product Managers and Engineers, setting clear goals, quality standards, and delivery expectations
  • Establish product management and engineering practices for the Finance domain, including discovery, requirements, prioritization, agile delivery, release management, and measurement
  • Ensure PMs and Engineers work as one team, with shared ownership of outcomes and not just feature delivery
  • Provide career development, coaching, and technical growth opportunities for team members

NetSuite Engineering & Platform Ownership

  • Lead the NetSuite engineering team responsible for the design, development, and ongoing health of MongoDB's NetSuite environment, which serves as the financial system of record
  • Set technical direction and standards for NetSuite development, including SuiteScript (1.0, 2.0, 2.1), SuiteFlow workflows, SuiteTalk, SuiteQL, saved searches, and custom records and objects
  • Own the NetSuite release and change management lifecycle, including sandbox strategy, code review, testing, deployment, and management of semi-annual NetSuite releases and feature updates
  • Drive technical debt reduction, including rationalizing legacy customizations and scripts, improving performance, and moving toward configuration and standard functionality where it makes sense
  • Oversee NetSuite integrations with CRM, billing, banking, tax, procurement, planning, and data warehouse systems, ensuring they are reliable, monitored, and well documented
  • Partner with Product Managers to translate finance requirements into NetSuite solutions, and with Finance process owners to evaluate when to configure, customize, or buy
  • Ensure NetSuite changes meet SOX and IT general controls, including segregation of duties, role and permission design, change approvals, and audit-ready documentation
  • Manage the relationship with NetSuite/Oracle and implementation partners, including licensing, support escalations, and roadmap alignment
  • Establish support and incident response practices, with clear SLAs, root cause analysis, and monitoring for business-critical processes such as month-end close

Domain Leadership Across Finance Functions

  • Tax: Partner with Tax to enable accurate and automated sales and use tax, VAT/GST, withholding, and indirect tax compliance, including tax engine integrations and reporting
  • Treasury: Enable cash management, bank connectivity, payments, cash forecasting, FX and risk management, and intercompany funding workflows
  • Accounting: Support record-to-report, general ledger, revenue recognition (ASC 606), consolidations, close automation, reconciliations, and fixed assets
  • Source-to-Pay (S2P): Drive procurement, purchase-to-pay, vendor management, AP automation, spend controls, and expense management
  • FP&A: Enable planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting platforms, with trusted data flowing from source systems into decision-ready analytics

Systems Integration, Data & Architecture

  • Own the architecture and integration strategy for the finance application landscape, spanning ERP (e.g., NetSuite), CRM, billing, banking, tax, procurement, planning, and data warehouse systems
  • Oversee integrations built with iPaaS and API-based tools (e.g., Boomi, Celigo, MuleSoft) and REST/SOAP APIs, ensuring reliability, scalability, and observability.
  • Partner with Data teams to improve data quality, lineage, and the reporting and analytics that support decision-making.
  • Evaluate build vs. buy decisions and lead vendor selection, implementation, and ongoing vendor management, including contracts and licensing.

Governance, Compliance & Risk

  • Ensure finance systems meet regulatory and internal control requirements, including SOX, GAAP, ASC 606, and applicable data privacy regulations
  • Define and enforce governance standards for change management, segregation of duties, role-based access controls (RBAC), and data integrity
  • Support internal and external audits by providing system documentation, reports, and evidence
  • Manage operational reliability, incident response, and system performance for business-critical finance processes

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Finance and executive leadership on technology capabilities, risks, and strategic initiatives
  • Translate business requirements into scalable solutions and communicate priorities, trade-offs, and progress clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Partner with IT, Security, Legal, and Procurement to deliver cohesive, compliant solutions

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in finance systems, fintech, or enterprise application product and engineering, with 4+ years leading teams that include Product Managers and Engineers, including NetSuite developers or engineers

  • Demonstrated experience delivering technology solutions across multiple finance domains (e.g., Tax, Treasury, Accounting, S2P, FP&A)
  • Strong working knowledge of finance and accounting processes such as record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, treasury operations, and planning and forecasting
  • Hands-on experience with ERP platforms (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Dynamics 365) and adjacent finance applications such as tax engines, treasury management systems, procurement and AP automation, close and reconciliation tools, and planning platforms
  • Strong technical foundation in system integration and architecture, including APIs (REST/SOAP), SQL, and integration platforms (Boomi, MuleSoft, Celigo or similar)
  • Proven ability to set product strategy, build roadmaps, and manage large cross-functional programs, including implementations, migrations, and upgrades, end to end
  • Understanding of SOX compliance, GAAP, ASC 606, and IT general controls and security best practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior Finance and technology leaders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • NetSuite Administrator, ERP Consultant, or SuiteCloud Developer certification
  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS, enterprise technology, or public company environment

  • Other relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CPA) or a CPA-adjacent finance background are a plus
