From the original posting

Lead from the front, build a winning team, and help bring the future of dairy farming to the North Island.

About the role.

Halter farmers are writing the playbook for a world-first farming system, and keeping them thriving is just as important as bringing them on board. As our Senior Manager | Account Management - North Island, you’ll lead the team that makes sure every Halter farmer gets the full value of the system, year after year.

This is a senior leadership role with real scope. You’ll own the retention, renewal and expansion number for your region, and you’ll shape how account management runs across New Zealand, from the standards and systems we work to, through to the way we measure the health of every account. You’ll design an operating model that’s consistent, repeatable and built to scale as Halter grows.

Above all, you’ll be a leader of leaders. Your impact will come through the people you build: Account Management Leads and Account Managers who are confident, capable and performing at their best. You’ll hire brilliantly, coach directly, hold a high bar and grow the next generation of leaders at Halter.

You’ll also be a strong voice across the business, working with our Revenue Operations, Marketing, Support, Launch and Product teams to keep improving the customer experience, and making the case for what account management needs to succeed.

Every farmer who stays with Halter, and grows with us, moves us closer to our mission: helping 50% of the world’s habitable land become more productive and sustainable.

Location: You can be based anywhere in the North Island, ideally in Auckland, Manawatū, Taranaki or Waikato. Frequent travel is part of the role.

What you’ll own.

  • Revenue retention and growth: You’ll own your region’s number for retention, renewals and expansion of Halter’s existing revenue. You’ll set the strategy to get there and keep your leads and Account Managers on track to deliver it, prioritising the way the company does: renewals first, then planned upsells, then collar expansion.

  • Real value for farmers: You’ll make sure every farmer is getting the full value of Halter against their own goals, and can clearly see and explain the difference it’s making to their business. You’ll own the touchpoints and processes that make this happen every time, not just some of the time.

  • Designing how account management runs: You’ll shape the standards, rhythm and systems that account management runs on across New Zealand, including:

  • The 90-day minimum engagement standard for every Halter farm, backed by account health reporting that makes any gaps visible

  • A remote check-in model for stable accounts, so in-person time goes to the farms that need it most

  • A clear picture of what great looks like for Salesforce input and account success planning, with templates and a workflow library that make it repeatable rather than reliant on individual personalities

  • The account health metrics reviewed every fortnight, and the routine that keeps those reviews sharp

  • Leading leaders: You’ll lead, manage and support your Account Management Leads and Account Managers to perform at their best. Your biggest impact will come through growing their capability, not your own account work. You’ll set clear priorities, coach directly, give early and specific feedback, and get to the real root cause when performance dips rather than just describing the symptoms.

  • Raising the bar across the business: You’ll coach and upskill people across Halter on what outstanding account management looks like, and become the credible, go-to voice on account management wherever it’s being discussed.

  • Talent, performance and succession: You’ll own recruitment and onboarding for your team and hold a high hiring bar. You’ll spot top talent before a vacancy ever appears, keep a live view of your bench and future successors, and use performance calibrations to guide those conversations. When performance slips, you’ll apply Halter’s approach properly: stepping in early with stronger feedback and support before any formal coaching plan, and holding the bar rather than lowering it.

  • Influence across Halter: You’ll partner with our Revenue Operations, Marketing, Support, Launch and Product teams to keep improving the end-to-end Halter customer experience. You’ll bring the objection and churn-risk insights from your team to the people who can act on them, and you’ll make the commercial case for what account management needs, including incentive and commission design, with the confidence to argue it with the executive team.

  • Training and development: You’ll adapt and lead Halter’s existing processes to build and deliver training for your team, keeping skill development aligned with our Principles and commercial goals. You’ll foster a culture of sharing knowledge, celebrating wins and working together across account management and sales.

  • Other duties as needed from time to time.

Who we’re looking for.

  • Attitude: You play for the front of the jersey. You lift the people around you, thrive under pressure and own your results. You bring genuine energy and passion to every conversation.

  • Leading the team: Setting and managing targets, commissions and the other moving parts that keep an account management team firing.

  • Growing your people: Coaching, mentoring and developing our account management teams so they hit their targets and grow their careers.

  • Setting customers up for success: Working with our Customer Success team to make sure handoffs, implementations and renewals go smoothly, and keeping customers informed and supported while they wait for deployment.

  • Building the brand: Getting out to industry and Halter events and demonstrations, and building relationships that grow Halter’s reputation in the region.

  • Problem solving and collaboration: You’re resourceful and quick on your feet, and you work well with other teams to find solutions.

  • Voice of the customer: Keeping farmers’ needs front and centre and sharing feedback that helps shape what we build next.

  • Sharpening the process: Working with the team to make our sales process faster, more efficient and more predictable as Halter scales.

Why our team loves working at Halter:

  • Work that genuinely matters. Every now and again a company comes along that transforms an entire industry and leaves the world in a better place. Our team gets to be part of something truly meaningful, helping farmers improve their livelihoods, spend more time with their families, and build more sustainable operations.
