From the original posting

Joining Legora means three things.

  • We lean in: ownership over titles, outcomes over intentions.

The Role

Legora is scaling quickly, and we're building a finance function to match. We're looking for a senior Revenue Accounting leader to own revenue recognition and sales commissions accounting end to end, and to build out the team. You'll take a function that has grown fast and make it scalable, well-controlled, and audit-ready.

This is a hands-on management role. You'll set policy and make the judgment calls, and you'll also be close enough to the detail to review contracts, build memos, and coach the team through complex transactions.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Revenue Accounting globally, ensuring related accounting, controls, and reporting are executed accurately and on time across all entities

  • Own Legora's ASC 606 revenue recognition across all entities, including multi-element arrangements, contract modifications, pilots, ramps, usage-based components, and multi-year deals

  • Own accounting for costs to obtain contracts, including capitalization, amortization period and pattern, and impairment assessment

  • Mentor, develop, and retain a high-performing team, creating clear accountability, strong development paths, and a culture of operational excellence

  • Strengthen the internal control environment, including SOX readiness and execution, process documentation and control design

  • Represent Revenue Accounting with senior stakeholders across Finance, Sales, RevOps, and Legal

  • Run the monthly and quarterly revenue close: deferred revenue, contract assets, unbilled receivables, deferred commissions, and related reconciliations and flux

  • Work with FP&A and RevOps on ARR and other key metric definitions, ensuring they reconcile to GAAP revenue and hold up to board and investor scrutiny

  • Shape revenue and commissions processes in our new ERP and its integration with Salesforce and our billing tools

  • Strengthen the internal control environment, including SOX readiness and execution, process documentation and control design

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of accounting experience, starting in Big 4 audit or technical accounting

  • Deep, practical ASC 606 and ASC 340-40 expertise in B2B SaaS, including complex enterprise contracts and commission plan accounting

  • Track record of building or scaling a revenue accounting function in a high-growth environment

  • Experience managing and developing a team

  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite (ARM/revenue modules a plus) and Salesforce

  • CPA required

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, speed, and a multi-entity, international structure

Nice to have

  • Experience at a public company or a company with public-company-level reporting requirements

  • Experience owning or integrating Billing within quote-to-cash

  • Experience reconciling non-GAAP metrics such as ARR or TCV to GAAP revenue and capitalized commissions

  • Exposure to SOX

  • Experience in AI or legal tech

What’s In It For You

  • Global collaboration: Partner with teams and clients across Europe, APAC, and North America.

  • In-person environment: Union Square office designed for ambitious builders and company provided lunch daily.

    • Multiple medical plan options through Aetna and Kaiser Permanente

    • Dental plans via MetLife

    • Vision plans via Vision Care

    Family Support

    • Generous parental leave

    • Free access to Maven Clinic

    • Dependent Care FSA

    Additional Perks

    • Pre-tax commuter benefits

    • Life Insurance + STD/LTD

    • 401(K) with generous company match

    • Unlimited PTO
