Get to Know Us

Horizon3 is a fast-growing, remote cybersecurity company dedicated to the mission of enabling organizations to proactively find, fix, and verify exploitable attack vectors before criminals exploit them. Our flagship product, the NodeZero™ platform, delivers production-safe autonomous pentests and other key assessment operations that scale across the largest internal, external, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments. NodeZero has been adopted by organizations of all sizes, from small educational institutions to government agencies and Global 100 enterprises. It is used by ITOps/SecOps teams, consulting pentesters, and MSSPs and MSPs.

We are a fusion of former U.S. Special Operations cyber operators, startup engineers, and formerly frustrated cybersecurity practitioners. We're committed to helping solve our common security problems: ineffective security tools, false positives resulting in alert fatigue, blind spots, "checkbox” security culture, cybersecurity skills shortage, and the long lead time and expense of hiring outside consultants. Collectively, we are a team of learn-it-alls, committed to a culture of respect, collaboration, ownership, and results.

About the Role

We are seeking a Director, Product Marketing to lead the go-to-market engine for our Proactive Offense Solution and team of product Marketers. You will be the entrepreneurial marketing lead for a massive expansion into the application security (AppSec) and Application Security Posture Management (ASPM) space. The market is currently being reshaped by AI hype, creating a distinct window of opportunity for a fierce competitor to seize total market ownership. You will report directly to the VP of Corporate & Product Marketing, partnering tightly with a world-class Product and Engineering team to turn deep technical capabilities into market dominance.

What You'll Do

Lead the Offensive Security portfolio

  • Own the product marketing strategy, portfolio narrative, positioning, messaging, launch priorities, and commercial plan for Horizon3’s Offensive Security portfolio.

  • Lead the team responsible for portfolio products and motions including NodeZero internal pentesting across infrastructure, cloud, and identity; web application security; external and rapid-response capabilities; platform integrations; and technology alliances.

  • Serve as the direct product owner and market-facing product leader for internal, cloud, and identity pentesting. Partner with Product Management and Engineering on customer problems, product priorities, roadmap inputs, release readiness, and product quality.

  • Create a coherent story that connects autonomous pentesting, attack-path validation, exploitability, remediation prioritization, and continuous hack-fix-verify workflows.

  • Identify the highest-value buyers, use cases, market opportunities, and portfolio gaps, then prioritize product marketing investment against business impact.

Build and develop the team

  • Hire, lead, coach, and develop three direct reports, setting clear charters, ownership boundaries, priorities, and measures of success.

  • Build a high-performing product marketing team with a high bar for technical fluency, customer empathy, writing quality, operating discipline, and commercial impact.

  • Establish effective operating rhythms for planning, launches, work-in-progress reviews, customer insight, competitive intelligence, skill development, and performance conversations.

  • Create leverage through reusable frameworks, shared standards, strong processes, and high-quality assets that help the team move faster without lowering the bar.

Drive new business, adoption, and expansion

  • Partner with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Enablement, Customer Success, Demand Generation, Alliances, and Revenue Operations to turn portfolio strategy into pipeline, sales productivity, adoption, expansion, and customer value.

  • Develop messaging, sales plays, enablement, competitive responses, objection handling, discovery guidance, demos, and proof-first content that help sellers win new business and expand existing accounts.

  • Build customer journeys and cross-sell motions that show how customers can extend NodeZero across internal infrastructure, cloud, identity, web applications, external attack surfaces, integrations, and related security use cases.

  • Partner with Customer Success and Customer Marketing to turn product outcomes into adoption programs, customer proof points, references, advocacy, and expansion opportunities.

  • Define and track the portfolio scorecard, including launch readiness, pipeline contribution, competitive performance, win rate, feature adoption, customer proof, and expansion.

Own positioning, messaging, and market influence

  • Guide the messaging, copy, content, and strategy that support the global marketing organization and create consistency across the customer journey.

  • Translate technical capabilities such as production-safe autonomous execution, attack-path discovery, identity compromise, cloud attack paths, web application risk, and verified remediation into clear buyer value for CISOs, security leaders, practitioners, and technical evaluators.

  • Build proof-first content including product pages, solution briefs, technical explainers, buyer’s guides, competitive content, customer stories, webinars, presentations, and executive narratives.

  • Ensure product claims are accurate, differentiated, supportable, and grounded in customer evidence, product capability, or validated research.

  • Partner with Corporate Communications, Analyst Relations, Demand Generation, Field Marketing, and Alliances to amplify the portfolio story through integrated programs.

Stay close to the market and the customer

  • Maintain a current view of customer needs, field feedback, buyer objections, win/loss patterns, competitive moves, and changes in the offensive-security market.

  • Create structured feedback loops that turn customer and market insight into action across Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing.

  • Help Horizon3 win against a combined set of alternatives: legacy vulnerability scanners and theoretical-risk tooling, point-in-time manual assessments, and fragmented point solutions.

  • Spend meaningful time with customers, prospects, sellers, and technical practitioners so the team’s strategy remains grounded in how security decisions are actually made and products are actually used.

Lead with high agency and shared accountability

  • Bring clarity to ambiguous product and market problems, diagnose what is blocking progress, and lead the next actions across and up the organization.

  • Operate as the CMO of the Offensive Security product line: obsess over what it takes to make the portfolio successful in the market, from product truth and competitive strategy to customer proof, seller readiness, adoption, and expansion.

  • Represent the customer and market perspective in portfolio planning, prioritization, packaging, launches, and roadmap discussions.

  • Help the broader Product Marketing organization raise the quality of its messaging, copy, operating model, and commercial impact.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of B2B product marketing experience, including significant experience in enterprise SaaS, cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, or another complex technical category.

  • 4+ years of experience leading, coaching, or managing product marketers and building high-performing cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated success defining product marketing strategy across multiple products, use cases, buying centers, or market segments.

  • A track record of launching and scaling complex technical products with measurable impact on pipeline, revenue, adoption, retention, win rate, or market position.

  • Strong working knowledge of cybersecurity markets and the ability to engage credibly with product leaders, engineers, sales teams, security practitioners, executives, and customers.

  • The ability to translate technical differentiation into clear positioning, compelling content, effective enablement, and commercial advantage.

  • Experience building repeatable launch, enablement, customer-insight, competitive-intelligence, and measurement systems.

  • Exceptional writing, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Strong business judgment, analytical skills, and comfort using data to prioritize investments and assess performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, create clarity, and drive decisions across a fast-moving organization.

What Sets You Apart?

  • Direct experience marketing offensive security, autonomous security, penetration testing, cloud security, identity security, application security, exposure management, CTEM, vulnerability management, or security operations products.

  • Experience serving as a product owner or market-facing owner for a technical product area.

  • Experience working with platform integrations, technology alliances, channel partners, or partner-led go-to-market motions.

  • Experience supporting analyst relations, executive thought leadership, category creation, customer advisory programs, or major industry events.

  • Experience using AI and automation to improve product marketing research, content, enablement, competitive analysis, reporting, or operating scale.

  • Experience with Salesforce, product analytics, marketing automation, customer intelligence, or business-intelligence tools.

Travel Requirements

  • This remote role requires up to 20% travel for key product launches, major industry events, customer interviews, and internal offsites.

  • Job-related travel expenses are reviewed and must be approved by your manager.

Perks of Horizon3

  • Inclusive Team: We value diversity and promote an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive.

  • Hybrid & Remote Work: We embrace a mix of remote and hybrid work models depending on role and location, including our Chicago office, where some roles require regular in-office presence.

  • Base salary range: $233,000 - $270,000 annually with a 20% Corporate Bonus Plan. The exact salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s location, qualifications, experience, and relevant skills.
