Quick facts
From the original posting
7AI is the foundational AI security company. Founded in 2024 by Cybereason co-founders Lior Div and Yonatan Striem-Amit, we came out of stealth in February 2025 to take on the non-human work of the SOC. Our platform pairs a federated SIEM with AI agents that detect, investigate, respond, and hunt, plus dedicated threat hunting and threat intelligence, with humans on the loop.
Backed by $166 million in total funding from investors including Index Ventures and Blackstone, we're building the AI foundation for security operations in the agentic era, and we're still early. That's the appeal: you'll join at a pivotal stage where your work shapes what 7AI becomes, alongside security veterans who've built this before. Our culture runs on respect, collaboration, and a shared bar for excellence, all pointed at one goal, delivering real outcomes for the customers who trust us to defend them.
Security teams don't just need an AI agent that works in theory. They need software that fits how they actually operate, and someone has to sit close enough to customers to know the difference. You'll join our core team as a product-minded engineer, owning work across the stack: backend systems day to day, and frontend when the product needs it. This isn't a conventional backend or full-stack role. We want someone who cares as much about customer pain points as technical problems, who knows the security landscape well enough to see where it falls short, and who uses AI-assisted development as a core part of how they work. You'll collaborate directly with customers, contribute product judgment alongside technical decisions, and take on the kind of ownership only a small, fast-moving team can offer.
Design, implement, and maintain core backend systems, including APIs, data pipelines, and workflow engines that power 7AI's agentic security platform.
Work across the full product stack using AI-assisted development, from backend services to frontend interfaces.
Translate customer pain points into product requirements, and turn those requirements into shipped software.
Work directly with customers to understand the problem space and validate solutions.
Contribute product and design judgment, not just implementation, helping shape what gets built and how it works.
Choose and implement the right technologies and architectures, and ship fast.
5+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, with strong fundamentals in system design, APIs, and data modeling.
Hands-on experience with cloud design and implementation, AWS preferred.
Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js or similar modern server-side languages; Python is a plus.
Fluent with AI coding tools such as Claude or Cursor.
Strong product instinct: you think about why something is being built, not just how, and you're comfortable talking directly with customers.
Experience in, or strong curiosity about, the security domain, including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, MDR, or incident response workflows.
Strong software development, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
Experience with workflow automation, SOAR platforms, or security orchestration.
Familiarity with Temporal or similar workflow engines.
Design sensibility: you don't need to be a designer, but you know when something isn't right.
Background in a product-facing or customer-facing engineering role.
