Senior Software Engineer, Product

The Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Product team, you will design and build the features that healthcare providers interact with every single day as they care for patients. As an OpenAI portfolio company, you will be surrounded by the leading minds in AI and exposed to the latest advancements in our field.

In the first 6 months, you'll take ownership of meaningful product initiatives end-to-end — from shaping the experience with our product and design partners to shipping high-quality code that reaches clinicians in production. You'll be a key voice in how we build, ensuring we move fast without sacrificing the reliability and craftsmanship our users depend on.

Our Engineering roles are hybrid in our SF office 3x/wk.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and architect major product features leveraging the latest advancements in AI to deliver a magical user experience

• Anticipate system bottlenecks and proactively re-architect key system components before they create issues for our customers

• Lead product initiatives with high strategic value, accelerating speed of iteration while preventing accumulation of technical debt

• Hold the codebase to a high standard, and assist in developing engineering processes that encourage shipping high quality code 

Who You Are: 

• You have a Bachelors degree and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent

• You have 5+ years experience tackling challenging zero-to-one software engineering problems that have spanned multiple teams

• You have a strong product instinct — you think about the end user experience, not just the technical implementation

• You're comfortable moving across the stack to take projects to the finish line, with solid experience in modern web technologies and cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS/GCP, Postgres, Docker)

• You have a demonstrated ability to own execution from inception through to successful outcomes

• You are a low-ego team player who prioritizes co-discovering the best ideas, even if they're not your own

• You value being a kind, encouraging, and supportive teammate

• You thrive in environments with high levels of complexity, uncertainty, and ambiguity

Pay Transparency

Every offer at Ambience includes both base salary and an equity grant. The base salary range for this role is:

• (SF Bay Area): approximately $188k — $235k per year

This intentionally broad range provides flexibility for candidates to tailor their cash and equity mix based on individual preferences. Our compensation philosophy prioritizes meaningful equity grants, enabling team members to share directly in the impact they help create.
