The Role
As Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for the entire build of industrial process infrastructure, from site development and ground-up civil work through installation and startup. You’ll schedule and direct trade contractors, run daily coordination meetings, resolve day-to-day construction issues, and inspect work to ensure it meets plans, specifications, and quality standards.
You’ll work closely with Construction Management, Design Engineering, Field Engineering, Process Engineering, and Operations from planning through installation, commissioning, and the start of production. Your leadership in the field will be vital to building our plants safely, on schedule, and to spec.
What You’ll Do
Site Execution & Schedule:
Own all on-site construction for the full build of industrial process infrastructure, from mobilization through turnover.
Schedule and sequence trade contractors, and host daily coordination meetings to keep work moving.
Drive the project schedule, track progress against plan, and elevate construction issues to the Project Manager and leadership early.
Develop and communicate site logistics and operational plans, including laydown, access, and material flow.
Quality & Inspections:
Perform daily inspections to ensure work complies with plans, specifications, and Mariana Minerals standards.
Develop and run Quality Assurance inspection plans, and hold contractors and team members accountable for the quality of their work.
Review design documents and provide constructability feedback before and during construction.
Contractor & Stakeholder Management:
Maintain frequent communication with the Project Manager, key project stakeholders, and job site personnel.
Oversee contractor performance to ensure achievement of KPIs and deliverables.
Collaborate with engineering, commissioning, facilities, and operations teams through startup of production.
Reporting & Systems:
Prepare daily and weekly site progress reports covering schedule, quality, safety, and open issues.
Partner with software engineering to improve field reporting tools and support ongoing automation.
Health, Safety & Environment:
Promote a safe work culture, conducting regular safety walks and toolbox talks.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing state and OSHA regulations.
Keep an organized, clean, and safe job site, including contractor trailers, fabrication areas, and stored materials and equipment.
Monitor and manage environmental controls (dust, stormwater, waste) during construction.
What You’ll Bring
10+ years of construction experience in civil work: site development, earthwork, underground utilities, shoring systems, ground improvements, foundations, pavement, and roadways.
Previous experience as a Superintendent on industrial, mining, or processing plant construction; brownfield, renovation, or tenant improvement experience is a plus.
Strong ability to read and interpret construction design documents, specifications, and contracts, and to provide constructability feedback.
Working knowledge of building codes, standards, and environmental regulations, including OSHA, NFPA 70E, and stormwater management practices.
OSHA 30 certification and current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain them.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, and scheduling tools (Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project preferred).
Ability to thrive in a high-performance, cross-functional organization with tight timelines and aggressive goals.
Excellent communication, judgment, and decision-making abilities in dynamic field environments.
Willingness to travel to or relocate near project sites as needed.
Experience with EPC/EPCM delivery models highly desirable.
