We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions.
We are looking for a Software Integration Engineer to serve as Applied Intuition's technical presence at a major automotive customer's development site. Working alongside the customer's engineering teams, you will integrate and validate our E/E platform software on test benches and development vehicles, and support each delivery through to acceptance.
This role combines hands-on integration and analysis with direct customer engagement. It suits an engineer who works effectively on their own on site and communicates clearly with both the customer and distributed internal teams.
Perform bench and vehicle integration on site, including software flashing, board bring-up, power mode testing, and debugging of CAN/CAN-FD, SOME/IP and Automotive Ethernet communication
Triage findings as they arise: reproduce the issue, isolate its source, and document it with the logs and analysis engineering needs to act on it
Own defects through to resolution and keep the customer informed of their status throughout
Support milestone deliveries on site through smoke testing, release validation and test execution
Lead technical working sessions with the customer's domain engineers across software, hardware and validation
Document bench configurations, flashing procedures and integration steps so that setup knowledge is preserved and transferable
Provide structured written updates to distributed engineering teams
Build a deep understanding of the system architecture and of how software, hardware and vehicle networks interact
2+ years of experience in embedded or automotive software integration, validation or development
Technical knowledge of the body, ADAS and infotainment domains
Hands-on debugging experience on real hardware and test benches, including log and trace analysis and confident use of standard lab instrumentation such as multimeters, bus measurement equipment and JTAG debug interfaces
Familiarity with embedded operating systems such as Linux, QNX or Android Automotive
Experience with CI/CD and release processes on large software projects
Strong written communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex technical findings clearly for engineers and program stakeholders
The ability to work on their own on site and to make sound technical judgments
Willingness to be based at a customer site and to travel as the engagement requires
BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
Experience with automotive technologies including AUTOSAR, SOME/IP, UDS diagnostics and LIN
Experience with HIL/VHIL benches and vehicle-level test rigs
Prior experience as a resident or onsite engineer with an OEM or Tier-1 supplier
Exposure to functional safety standards such as ISO 26262
