About Pinterest:

Solutions Engineer Interns work at the intersection of engineering, data and Pinterest’s advertising and revenue ecosystem. They contribute to scoped technical projects that improve tools, workflows, integrations and support experiences for internal teams, advertisers and partners.

The role offers exposure to real engineering work, cross-functional collaboration and responsible AI-assisted workflows, including applying judgment and verification to AI-supported work. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to see how technology drives customer and business impact. You’ll partner with engineers, data and analytics specialists, product stakeholders and go-to-market teams; learn how ambiguous operational problems become reliable technical solutions; and gain hands-on experience across coding, debugging, data analysis, automation, documentation and system design.

What you’ll do:

  • Complete assigned technical projects with attention to quality, incorporating feedback from your mentor, manager and peers
  • Execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end that contribute to Pinterest products and infrastructure
  • Build, test, debug, and improve code, scripts, automations, internal tools or data workflows using guidance from experienced engineers.
  • Investigate technical issues using logs, data, documentation and structured troubleshooting; help identify root causes, validate solutions and communicate findings.
  • Participate in scheduled engineering on-call coverage during regular workdays and working hours, with guidance from experienced engineers, to help triage and document issues.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Sales, Operations and Support teams and, where relevant, communicate directly with external partners to understand requirements, clarify technical questions and contribute to practical solutions.
  • Help improve reporting, monitoring, documentation, sample code, or support processes so teams can resolve issues and make decisions more efficiently.
  • Use approved AI tools to accelerate research, coding, analysis, and documentation while validating outputs, protecting confidential information, and taking ownership of the final work.

What we’re looking for:

  • This position requires current enrollment in a school or education program in which the individual is working towards a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, engineering, information systems or a related technical field.
  • Obtain Bachelor's in Computer Science or related technical field by June 2028.
  • Foundational understanding of programming concepts, debugging and testing, demonstrated through coursework, projects or prior experience.
  • Experience writing and debugging code in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, JavaScript or C++.
  • Clear communication of technical thinking, thoughtful clarifying questions and effective collaboration with teammates.
  • Comfort working with structured data in tables or CSV files and using spreadsheets to organize or review data.
  • Experience using AI tools to support learning, research or technical problem-solving, with a practice of validating outputs through testing or source review and handling information responsibly.

We offer 2 internship start dates:

  • May 17, 2027 - August 6, 2027
  • June 14, 2027 - September 3, 2027

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • For this role, some interns will work in a hybrid model (commutable distance to one of our offices, with in-person collaboration approximately 1–2 times per week), and some will work fully remote within approved locations. Specific location and work style (hybrid or remote) will be confirmed during the interview and offer process. Office locations available for this role: Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York
